4 guys out for a nice dinner. We ordered two dishes of the special menu - 250 gr of unknown meet poorly cut which they let you cook on your own at the table on some sort of an hibachi grill. The meat was decent, a big red light went on when the waitress didn't know what cut it was. The hibachi was hot enough but wasn't properly oild or cleaned so the meat stuck to it.
We also ordered two entricote steak which were barely edible. Probably the worst piece of steak I had in my life.
The gratten that was served as a side dish was spectacular, the only good thing about this meal. The highlight was a 2*2cm piece of plastic that was found in the salad served with one of the steaks. one of the guys had the pleasure of putting it in his mouth. We called over the waitress and quietly and respectfully brought it to her attention. she passed it over to the owner who couldn't care less. Ten minutes later we called the waitress again and told her that we are not looking for any compansation but an explanation or an apology is the minimum expected. (where I come from if a piece of plastic is found in the food no self dignified restaurant would think about charging you for your meal.
At that point we we're offered a shot of degistiff on the house (we declined) it ended with a 6 euro discount at check out (we left that as tip) If your looking for a good steak house you have no business...
Read moreStopped by since it was close (just under) to our accommodation and they had cheese fondue on the menu. It was fairly busy but we managed to get a table without booking. Promptly got menus and water after sitting down. The interior was quite nice with the wooden walls and nice decor. It had almost a homey feel. We went with one of the fondue Savoyarde royale and one of the frog legs. Note that for their specialties (including the fondue) there is a two person minimum. Fondue came with potatoes, bread and cold cuts for dipping. The pot of cheese was fairly large. Fondue was nice but did split a bit so a lot of mixing before dipping. The portion of frogs legs was also quite large with salad and chips on the side. It had plenty of garlic butter so was delicious. We also had dessert crepes which were a bit more expensive than other places but was still nice. They had other interesting items on the menu like braserade which was an indoor BBQ as well as Fondue Bourguignonne, Beef cooked in hot oil,...
Read moreI recently dined at L’Eterlou and had a mixed experience. The restaurant's small size lends an intimate and cozy atmosphere, perfect for those seeking an escape from larger, bustling establishments.
The standout feature for me was the surprisingly extensive selection of authentic French dishes. From classic favorites to regional specialties, the menu caters to a diverse range of tastes. As a picky eater myself, I appreciated the variety available, making it easier to find something satisfying.
While the intimate space adds charm, it might not be suitable for larger groups or those seeking a more spacious dining environment. Despite this, L’Eterlou offers a genuine taste of French cuisine in a quaint setting, making it a noteworthy choice for those who value quality over quantity.
