We went in Jan 2024 with 4 people and had a great time. This year (2025) we were looking forward to going and we took 6 people with us. We went in a few hours before and asked if it was possible to get a table downstairs, they said no, which was disappointing as it’s better downstairs. We walked in to our table and were seated upstairs in the far corner. There were only English people seated upstairs when we were seated. We ordered almost everything on the menu, generally the food was good but the service was really bad, the salad was overly seasoned and the charcuterie was overly truffled. The service was so bad - we asked for the wine menu, waited 15 minutes and then the waiter asked if the sommelier had been around. He hadn’t. He then asked ‘white or red’. The service was incredibly attentive - the staff are more than happy to help with everything & are very knowledgeable about the menu. Everything was produced & served with so much care & attention. The food was absolutely delicious - all savoyarde specialities focussing on local produce. The cote de boeuf was the best I’ve ever had, as was the French onion soup. It was very reasonably priced for the quality of the restaurant. All the meat is cooking on the indoor bbq and tasted amazing. The house sommelier is also fantastic & recommended each bottle we tried - we would have gone back if we had had another chance! Definitely worth a trip if you’re staying anywhere...

The restaurant is charming - like a fairytale cottage. It is not white linen table cloths and silver service, but is friendly and cosy.
The food is sensational - we had a selection of steaks between our group and the côte de boeuf was the best we’ve ever seen. Also the cauliflower fritters were exquisite. The maître d’ was helpful, friendly and very passionate and knowledgeable.
All the steaks are cooked on the open fire and the atmosphere was a tiny bit smoky, but that just added to the experience!
We had the best time and cannot...
