Le Solstice — Restaurant in Albertville

Stopped for a quick cocktail in the nice looking bar. After asking the staff where my group of 6 could sit, they vaguely waved behind them and said "sit anywhere" which wasn't a good start. The staff didn't seem busy, I got the impression they just couldn't be bothered to help find us a table.

We ordered a drink each and it took quite a while for them to be brought to the table, despite it not being busy in the bar. I found my old fashioned to be way too sweet, I'm certain whoever made it made a mistake with the syrup and didn't taste check before sending it out.

The worst was when I was part way through the drink and saw my glass was encrusted with dirt and grime all around the inside of the glass. Disgusting. Really unprofessional from start to finish and...

Our group waited 1h15m for our food to arrive.

Several tables that arrived after us received their food and left. I’m quite sure there was a kitchen mix up and they forgot our order.

It was 30 mins between our first check with our waiter and food arriving.

We received a foie gras dish complimentary as an apology for waiting. Little did they know half of us are vegetarian.

2* After some hounding of the waiters and the manager, we received our food. It was good, which warrants 2*. It probably would have been great if we didn’t have to wait so long, but alas, annoyed and hangry is more judgemental.

Completely waste of time and money. PLEASE DO NOT GO!!! The service is utterly rude and unprofessional for a 5 stars hotel. The food came late, it was too salty and they didn’t accept that was bad. We kindly asked to do something for us and they only did a 5% discount. That’s laughable. And the most embarrassing and frustrating thing is that they were gossiping about is in front of us because they thought we didn’t know French. The only professional was the Sommelier.
