This is a difficult review to write because I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant.
I called for a reservation for a group of 5 for a 7pm table (right at open, we were the first people there). I spoke with the “boss” who was adamant on me selecting our dinner right there without seeing a menu. I asked if we could order at the restaurant. She said no. I had difficulty understanding the French names of the dishes (not a native French speaker) so I told her “raclette” and she said ok just call back to change if you change your mind.
Fast forward to the dinner, we show up and one of our party members was having a stomach issue so we asked if it was possible to order just for one person off the “regular menu”. They told us this was impossible as they had already prepared the raclette. We then offered to pay for the 5th raclette serving such that our 5th party member could order a burger and not eat a full dairy meal. They sent over the “boss” whose first question was “who did I speak with on the phone?” She proceeded to bully one of our party members for not speaking French and not selecting the correct option on the phone. Her main complaint was “it would be too much food” and “not possible” because everything was already prepared. This was totally bizarre because there were parties that walked in without a reservation and ordered off the menu. It was one of the more bizarre experiences I’ve had traveling across 5 continents. Eventually they decided we could do 4 servings of raclette and our 5th party member got a burger.
They retaliated by totally ignoring us for service. Everyone else in the restaurant was served a complimentary menthe liquor after their meal except for us. When we were finished, we had to ask for the bill 3 times. When we finally got it, we had to literally walk up to the bar to pay the bill. Whole bill paying process took legitimately 30 minutes.
Again this was a disappointing review because the food was pretty good. The boss and the staff were so unpleasant though I would recommend tourists stay away. Biggest ski resort in the world you’d think they’d have already had a few non French speaking folks come in for dinner… guess not…...
Read moreIf you are around don’t miss this awesome place. The food, the service and the atmosphere were amazing. My friend and I truly loved the place. Before leaving and finishing our meal, we made a reservation for the next night! That’s how much we liked it. With reservations mentioned, make sure to book a table before you head over there, because you may not get the chance since all tables get booked in advance.

Read moreFabulous evening with amazing food. Put a full review on tripadvisor. Great value compared with more expensive restaurants in Meribel and lovely personal service and atmosphere. The local dishes we had were way above what I’ve had before on many trips to the alps. Our son who was with us eats out at lots of fancy places and he was impressed, say no more. Best local...
