Solid down-to-earth local real-deal!

I went for plat do jour menu without the dessert - everything super solid and worked out in terms of balance. I must say I was a little sceptic because of the minimum of information I was given - like a red wine is "Bordeaux", and a starter is "a bread with vegetables, cheese and it's hot". I don't speak French so that was probably the way to describe it in English. I like to be surprised in places I know I can trust - so I was happy that already when wine came I knew it's gonna be legit. Full body with a rich bouquet, notes of blackcurrant & pepper, really engaging and by no means banal. The level of house wine cleared the way for the experience.

Starter was a fantastic marriage of blanched zucchini, sauteed pear, pesto, ham and reblochon (I think) cheese on top - all served on thin slice of toasted bread. It had so many levels that it took something like 20 minutes to eat it.. Also because the vinaigrette totally changed the whole game in a beautiful way. Believe me, it tasted waaaay better than it looks.

Then, a little "ascetic" main for a change. Here already with the smell you knew - that's it. Freshly made real potato fries, entrecote perfectly medium cooked and pepper sauce that just turned it into another meal. And really well paired with that Bordeaux, there was absolutely nothing to be picky about.

Simple and solid. Local real deal. Strong 5 stars. I only regret not taking a desert, but hey that portion was truly satisfying and it felt like the right choice...

We went out of season last month to this restaurant which we found on google. The reviews were excellent so we wanted to pay a visit.

We had an excellent set menu meal of a high standard, also prepared fully gluten free for my wife too. We struggle to find places which will alter dishes to suit a gluten allergy so thought this was very good of them.

Two ladies served us which offered excellent service although our French isn’t great, they were happy to communicate in English.

The meal was great value and we would highly recommend to anyone...

From the moment we walked in the ladies were very welcoming and the food was delicious. We had the 29 euro set menu and as a group of 3 we tried most of the options which we thought was extremely good. Atmosphere was lovely. Will definitely visit again. Would...
