Restaurant Le Kairn - Hôtel Kaya — Restaurant in Albertville

Had diner at Le Karin during my stay in Les Menuires. There are not a lot of restaurants, but skip this one. It is very expensive and the food is bad. We ordered the Boston beef, a main dish. There was a single piece of beef (about 200gr) on the plate with a large spoonful of mashed potatoes. No side salad, no vegetables, no sauce, nothing. The price for this is 48 euro which is insanely expensive for what you get. I ordered my beef medium, it arrived well done and bone dry. You could taste this had been in the oven at 50C during the day and only touched the frying pan for a couple of seconds before it...

Not sure what the bad reviews are about - we stayed at Kaya hotel for 5 nights and ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here.

The buffet selection for breakfast was the best I have ever had. For lunch, we had the grilled chicken salad and the beef tartar. Both were brilliant, fresh and reasonably priced for the area.

For dinner, we had the cheese fondue for 2 people and the grilled meats for 2. Both were excellent.

Staff were always attentive and the manager is incredibly helpful...

Overpriced, small portions, faux "gourmet" food. We only ate there while staying at the hotel Kaya, and felt a bit trapped to do so as every other option is a long walk or expensive taxi drive. Otherwise, anywhere else is a better option. Hotel itself is definitely not looking to be guest friendly, with absent management and inability to address requests properly (or altogether) in spite of a ridiculously high price...
