The herring was so amazing! One of the best pickled herring dishes I’ve had! Nicely pickled flavors and the potatoes were excellent pairing! Must-order for appetizer.
My gratin was disappointing, I did not know exactly what the green “local” pasta it was. I think there were some cabbage in there which I didn’t like so much. No meat. I think some minced beef or even pork would have made it better to otherwise a very bland plate of baked pasta with veggies.
The live music was great, the man sang all the popular hits in acoustic and was so good!! It was calming and very enjoyable.
Waiter did not want to seat us before the restaurant opened for dinner but later was helpful with water etc because he simply forgot to refill the water bottle.
Wait time for our mains was almost ridiculous, about an hour. And this wait was after we had our appetizers (escargot and herrings). They might be short staffed due to beginning of summer as it was still a bit chilly on a June 30 day. This year the summer came late to Europe!
The Eurocup was also on #EURO2024 ! There was a huge flat screen (slanted upwards lol). As we were the 2 groups that came in first, 10-15 min before dinner opening time, there were 4-5 other groups that came afterwards that filled the patio.
Overall food was satisfactory, service is merely satisfactory, not very friendly but helpful and knows what he’s doing, as he was kind enough to let us sit in the table before restaurant opening, all in all the live music upped...
Read moreFirst, I am shocked by the 4.3 rating. I have traveled to over 15 EU countries and three Asian countries and I cannot remember a worse meal than the one I had at this “restaurant”. For our top dollar price we had a metal table, no table cloth, on a covered terrace. The meal started off with a tapenade on two pieces of toasted beget which was very good. If you plan on ordering their specialty dish, L’Entrecote Montbeliarde a la plancha, stop here and save yourself $29 euro. My wife had their interpretation of risotto with La Loup (sea bass). The dish was generous and flavorful although not really a risotto in the traditional sense.
I mistakenly had the, L’Entrecote Montbeliarde a la plancha supposedly a specialty of the house. The waiter delivered a scratched up metal side table with a portable burner on it next to our table. The waiter came back with a metal serving plate with what was supposed to be steak on it. The “steak” was raw chunks of fat and gristle (menu states slow cooked for 16 hours) with some unidentifiable liquid on it and then he lights the burner. The “steak” was literally the worst piece of meat I have encountered in all my travels. The quality of the “meat” was worse than you would feed a dog you didn’t like. There was not one piece of steak that didn’t have huge amounts of fat and gristle including a couple that were only fat and gristle. If this restaurant gets a 4.5/5, then McDonalds...
Read moreWe ended up in this place because of good reviews. I wish people would be honest with their reviews. The food was horrible, as well as the service. We had to return one dish since it was clearly a mockery, absolutely tasteless. First, he brought us stale bread, obviously from leftovers, since it wasn't cut from one piece. Some pieces of bread were very stale, some were less stale. You can tell the quality of a restaurant by the quality of its bread. I regret that we didn't leave immediately, since this tasteless dinner ended in food poisoning for two people from our company. We ordered two three-course menus and three dishes and were very disappointed. I ordered burata, and the burata was good. However, the salad was not a salad, just leaves with three pieces of tomatoes, no spices, no salt, no olive oil, no sauce. The service was ridiculous. It was like a little show for us, and we took it with a humor. The waiter bought the wine, put it down, turned away and left))) They don't pour wine into the glasses here. They are probably very proud of their rudeness and lack of manners. It looks like this place is for locals only, and they hate tourists for...
