Restaurant gastronomique @ Abbaye de Talloires — Restaurant in Annecy

My wife and I had a Sunday lunch for a birthday treat. We arrived early so had a great window table for 2 overlooking the lake, we loved our warm welcome from the young and very charming waiter and sommelier. The menu looked awesome so we went for the 2nd most expensive at 118 euros each . I wouldn’t normally point this out, but I have to say whilst everything we were serving looked great , the flavors in the majority of the dishes were almost nonexistent. We had high hopes for this restaurant given our stay at the hotel, but we were disappointed. However, the carrot dish and the lamb were good and there was quite a variety of cheeses. The fish dishes were unremarkable (dare I say boring). The dry ice dish was almost laughable (ok maybe I did laugh 🤣) and overall the food was just disappointing for an expensive tasting menu. Légère déception, sur la cuisine et le service.🤔 Le chef a changé et sans contexte celui d octobre 2023 était bien superieur, quant aux mélanges et saveurs exceptionnelles (nous étions venus il y a un an pour nos 35 ans de mariage et nous avions été emballes). Avec le chef d' origine asiatique, trop d utilisation du fume. Sur que les personnes n ayant pas eu l experience gastronomique avec l ' ancien chef ne peuvent comparer . Quant au dessert le thème sur la poire était parfait mais celui au marron et potimarron pour un menu de ce prix n a été un essai transforme pour notre table. Vraiment regrettable de finir le repas là dessus. Car c est l impression qui perdure .
