This establishment has the rudest staff ever!
After being recommended the restaurant by our hotel Le Moulin, we went there on Monday 11th of August at 9:50 PM, 10 minutes before last orders, and asked if they could fit us in but in an aggressive manner, they rudely refused! Although the restaurant was still busy with customers, we could clearly see a number of empty tables and said that we just wanted a main course as we appreciated the time even though their website states last orders are at 10pm and they are open until midnight.
Then the excuses started: firstly, he said they were fully booked and had other parties coming, then they said they had run out of a lot of items, then he said the kitchen was closed.
The issue was the rude and abrupt manner in which he spoke to us. It didn’t end there, as the manager who came out to see what the issue was, was even ruder. We explained again that our hotel Le Moulin had recommended them and that we just wanted something quick to eat. He said no, we are closed, and in his anger, he soon escalated into an argument in a physically aggressive manner. This happened in front of other diners in the restaurant and we were quite simply shocked by his behaviour. He then proceeded to threaten to throw my husband out of the restaurant.
I called Le Moulin and spoke to the manager on duty while this was going on, and she overheard him speaking to us in such an ill manner. She was just as shocked as we were. How can you physically threaten to fight with a guest and throw them out of a restaurant when they are simply asking for a table when the restaurant is clearly open, still serving food and expecting other guests to arrive?
Our hotel Le Moulin said they were shocked and will not be sending any guests there in the future. This really is disgusting and disturbing behavior, and no establishment should get away with this. I read another review on here and saw the management's response; it really says it all!
Avoid this restaurant unless you wish to run the risk of being physically threatened, verbally abused and treated with total disrespect.
Last note to the restaurant owners: I invite you to check your CCTV camera footage to see what happened and seriously consider the consequences of this not just on us but to the bewildered customers watching this spectacle unfold.
Bravo monsieur - if proof were needed of your poor attitude and unprofessionalism, your response captures it perfectly! You can, of course, lie to protect yourself but, as I mentioned, I was on the phone to my hotel when this was happening and they heard everything. You are not worth further energy and the best “advert” for your restaurant is the tone and nature of your response ! It is also good to note that “tourists” (even with “slightly full wallets”) are NOT welcome!...
