Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at Bouchon.
The first two dishes came out very quickly, and then there was a wait of 35-40 minutes before the other dishes followed. The shells of the pork tacos were stale, and the “ceviche” had prawns that were cooked to the point of being rubbery. Given the quick service, it seems that the chef simply had these dishes lying around.
With the other dishes, again the flavour was very disappointing. The broccoli dish was simply boiled broccoli on unseasoned polenta, and the beef and aubergine were just dredged in raw soy sauce. It all felt lazy.
It seems that the restaurant had only one chef working to feed a packed restaurant, which probably explains the long wait and the poor food. I feel sorry for him!
That said, the wine we had was delicious - the only enjoyable thing...

The staff brought us a towel which was a nice touch. Food was ok, but over priced. We had better food at the hotel on the other side of the village. The waiter / owner? Martin’s charm and humour were fab and he looked after our every need. But it was the food that blew us away. They serve tapas style food, but much bigger platefuls.
