My wife and I took a long drive to the restaurant hoping to get dinner after reading the great reviews on Google Map. We did not make any reservation as it was a last minute plan. When we arrived, I walked through the front door of the restaurant and was met by the person-in-charge, a man, who spoke in French. As I don’t speak French, I asked him in English if he could speak English. He continued to speak in French and from his gesture I assumed he was saying the restaurant is fully booked even though I saw some empty tables. He didn’t ask me if I have made any reservation either. This is fine to me and I was ready to leave the restaurant when another guest walked in and spoke to him in English and he responded in English. This really sadden me for an Asian who have toured many parts of France and had many wonderful experiences with the French people even though we could not communicate with a common language. Excellent choice of local wines and drinks. Food was exceptional we had 6 oysters, the shrimp (le crevette a l’ail), battered mussles with homemade alioli (beignets de moules) for starters, the shrimp being a highlight. And for the main we had squid and a whole grilled sea bass (Bar grillé “meunière” aux piquillos), a perfect recommendation from the waitress. Lors de mon séjour à Arcachon, j'ai eu le plaisir de découvrir le restaurant Le Chipirons, et je dois dire que c'était une expérience culinaire exceptionnelle. Ce restaurant est une véritable perle, surtout pour les amateurs de fruits de mer.
J'ai eu l'occasion de déguster leur spécialité, les chipirons, à deux reprises, et à chaque fois, j'ai été émerveillé par la finesse de la préparation et la qualité des ingrédients. Les chipirons étaient parfaitement cuits, savoureux et d'une fraîcheur incomparable.
L'ambiance du restaurant est chaleureuse et accueillante, le service est impeccable, et le personnel est attentif et sympathique. Leur attention aux détails et leur passion pour la cuisine se ressentent dans chaque plat.
Je recommande vivement ce restaurant à tous ceux qui visitent Arcachon. C'est un incontournable pour les amateurs de bonne cuisine. Dommage que mes vacances se terminent, sinon j'y serais retourné une troisième fois...
