We stayed for 7 nights. This hotel is probably better for an overnight stopover. We booked two rooms - a king size superior with balcony / sea view and a single with balcony. There was little difference for the 400 Euro difference paid. Both were very small rooms with unnecessarily huge beds. The daily room service was good but the floors and general decor need a really deep clean, along with the balcony's. When wiping up water from the shower the bathmat was black. |We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel but used the coffee machine in the room and purchased croissants locally. The hotel foyer has extra supplies of coffee etc and a water cooler. In the rooms a fridge was positioned inside the wardrobe, which incidentally requires a degree of flexibility to access and provides little room for storing clothes over the week - we lived out of our suitcases, which also made the available floor space even smaller.|The hotel charge 10 Euros per night for car parking, they say this is an out of season price, with 15 Euros per night for high season. We needed to be sure of secure and safe parking which it provided - but you do need to reserve in advance. |The hotel is a fairly long walk from the town centre and although a quiet street for the majority of the day, deliveries are made between 6 and 7 am and if like us you prefer the patio door open for fresh air, rather than recirculated aircon you'll have an early alarm call - the nearby church bells and the sparrows are charming and made up for this. |This hotel isn't really good value for money, it is only 3 Star and is comparatively expensive I would suggest you look elsewhere for a longer stay...

Read moreFor this long trip, in France, we stayed in 2 hotels in Bordeaux and 1 hotel in Arcachon.|In 2 hotels in Bordeaux, all the staff were nice.||However, at The Best Western Arcachon Le Port / Grand Atlantic Hôtel, we had a very bad experience.|Actually, all the staff were friendly, at the bar & breakfast cafe.|The problem was one of the receptionists who was not nice to us when we arrived.|And she didn't have any patience for us. The check in time was at 3pm. We arrived at 12 noon. we asked her, can we leave our luggages here first. She wanted to crack it for us!!! We needed to repeat the request for her. She really made us feel very upset and we were very disappointed with her bad manner and service.|The receptionist job is for helping customers check in & check out, and keeping some luggages. We think she does not want to do this kind of job to be honest.||In this hotel and in Arcachon, all the local people were very nice except her. Maybe I'm an English speaker from the UK. I said, Bonjour and then I went to speak some English. We wonder - She may not be happy about Non French Speaking customers. For Non French Speaking / English Speaking. Not Recommended! If you want to have some good receptionist's service, Not Recommended to book this hotel too!||Moreover, the distance from the hotel to the train station / main town / main beach - the hotel information is 10-15 mins walk. It's NOT TRUE. At least 20-30 mins walk. If you have a big suitcase, maybe worse. Honestly, this hotel is a bit far from the train station / main town / main beach. Everyday, we had to walk a lot in the...
