I'm very sorry to post this, because the dishes were lovely. But the service, with the exception of a very kind blonde waitress, was pretty bad. The main waiter had no knowledge of coeliac disease while during the reservation I was reassured that they would have options for me. It was a special occasion for me and my boyfriend so I was looking for a nice dinner, but the contempt of the waiter regarding my allergy led us into an unpleasant night. I had to give.up my main because I realised there was soy sauce in the meal (they didn't know soy sauce contains gluten), so I ended up with just the cheese. We had ordered two meal plans which included the main though, and after the mistake HE made, he didn't even discount the price of the entree+fromage which by themselves cost almost like a full fixed menu (the one we ordered). Stay away if you have any allergies or you care for kindness and understanding in the people who serve you.
Also, i asked for a nice table and when we arrived we were put at the entrance table...
Read moreOur first meal in Auxerre was nothing short of spectacular! The service was warm and welcoming, the servers were exceptionally friendly and even offered us an extra round of their delicious homemade bread. From start to finish, every dish had its own charm, and by the end of the meal, we were absolutely stuffed.
The foie gras crème brûlée as the amuse-bouche was a delightful surprise - it was rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. We were especially impressed by the duck breast, which we ordered rare; it was incredibly tender, cooked to perfection, and without any bloodiness. To top it all off, the three-cheese dessert took us on a flavorful journey through Burgundy.
An unforgettable dining experience, and we couldn’t have asked for a better...
Read moreWe had 2x faux fillet of Charolais with 2 chanterelles and gratin dauphinois, plus 1x La Gambas). 1x entree (air-dried ham, 24 months), 2x dessert (Le Chocolat). The food was wonderful and with the many side dishes, greetings from the kitchen etc. it was also inspiring and interesting. The recommended wine was great. Dessert also highly recommended. Service was very attentive and friendly. The only thing that bothered me a tiny bit was that the wine was topped up. Yes, many appreciate that, I like to play the ‘host’ and pour us more. Not a bad thing, but I wanted to mention it. I thought the prices were fair. Conclusion: anyone who goes out to eat in Auxerre should do it here.
