For starters, holy buckets this pizza was amazing. We had been eyeballing this pizza establishment our few nights in L'Isle walking by it. It is only open for dining 2 hours and closed on Sunday and Wednesday. It was perfectly fine with us because Clem's proved that it was definitely worth the anticipation. Our pizzas arrived with fresh bay leaves and mozzarella like none I have ever tasted, but have to admit that the real star of the show was that crust! Perfectly baked. It was entertaining seeing the chef making our pizzas (and apparently a whole lot of other folks' pizza). While they had other items on the menu, suffice it to say that Clem's pizza was what everyone was eating! Service was 5 star. What a wonderful way to end our stay at L'Isle than with full tummies. Cannot recommend Clem's enough. Don't forget to leave room for those amazing desserts.
Addendum: Totally forgot to mention the goat cheese dip and bread biscuits. Again, unanimously another unsuspecting hit! Soooo creamy, smooth, and not anything like the smell of goat cheese I have had previously. What a total hit again....
Read moreWow. A former pastry chef making authentic Italian pizza in La Sorgue. We tried 3 different pizzas. Excellent crust. Possibly the best ever. Perfect balance of texture and elasticity. The crust puffed high! ☺️. Ingredients were fresh. The margarite was perfectly traditional. I could have been in Naples. Anchovy had no cheese and is better than the one I make. The rheine used a unique cheese that caused the taste buds to dance. The only recommendation is to fix some of the overdone crust edges. I know that is hard but it would make the pizza perfect. The desserts. We ordered one of each. All were unique, never been tasted before and all should be ordered again. I wish I would have tried the coffee, but didn’t want to stay awake! This is a do again……...
