Category: Fine Dining. We were grateful that this great restaurant was able to squeeze us in on short notice on a busy Wednesday night in mid-October. When we arrived, every other table in the front and rear dining rooms was filled, and I suspect the outdoor tables along the river would have been filled too if the night had been warmer. The smart, crisp, sparsely decorated two-tone wainscoted interior fitted the high level of food and service. We didn’t expect the servers to speak English, but they did and were very helpful. The wine list offered plenty of bottles below 40 Euros, which is our sweet spot for restaurant wines. We chose a delicious local red for less than 30 Euros. The restaurant surprised us with a pea soup amuse bouche. I love pea soup. For an entree we shared the sautéed escargot 🐌, which were served atop a butternut squash puree and beneath a very light garlic sauce. As delicious as it was gorgeous. For mains we chose the pork belly confit and the filet of maigre (a white fish) with risotto. Both were excellent. We ended with the decadent Croustillant, a chocolate lover’s dream. Recommended. Read moreAbsolutely love this place! I'll definitely be coming back again next time. Loved every dish today, each one was a pleasant surprise. I've had a negative experience with beef tata dishes before in Paris, but today the beef tata served by the restaurant completely changed my impression. The incredibly delightful sauce paired with the beef created a perfect combination. Additionally, the Iberian pork was cooked to perfection, and when paired with an indescribably delicious sauce, I was beyond thrilled.
Whether it's the owner or the manager, whoever is in charge of the food and the overall pacing of the restaurant has done an exceptional job. It led my husband and me to an exquisite evening. A truly professional and dedicated restaurant—I can't express how wonderful it was. Thank...
Read moreThere are many, MANY, restaurants along the river here. I'm sure most of them are good. But I cannot imagine a better value than the 25 euro menu we had for lunch today at La Balade Des Saveurs. Pressed skate wing with squash and some kind of mint infusion for the entree, then chicken with ricotta and vegetables for the main course, and an excellent lemon tart for dessert. Reasonably priced bottle of rose'. 128 euro for 4 for the whole thing. You start looking around and you see entrees for 15, plats for 24, desserts for 10, and you realize this is a really good deal. Note: The menu is what it is, as at many French places, so make sure the dishes are all things you can eat. You can substitute from the regular menu, but that runs...
