After spending a few days traveling through the south of France, we visited the antique market in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. By chance, we discovered Le Café du Village on a beautiful rainy day. Soaking wet, we walked in and were greeted by the kindest lady, who graciously helped us as we don’t speak French. We simply said, “Je ne parle pas français,” and she couldn’t have been more accommodating.
We were seated at the best table upstairs in the restaurant. It’s family-owned, and the wife took excellent care of us, guiding us through the menu. The wine and food were probably the best we’ve had on this trip. The Thai chicken salad was incredibly fresh, the beef tartare was the best I’ve ever tasted, and the burgers were mouthwatering. Definitely ask for the mayo with mustard for the fries—it’s a must-try.

Le serveur me dit qu'il ne peut pas me servir de cocktail avec alcool, je demande donc un pastis, mais le serveur me repond qu'ils n'ont pas la licence 4.... Bon... Alors partons sur une bière en 50, en suivant son conseil sur le type de bière (bien corsée). Il revient, avec le cocktail sans alcool, et une biere... En 25... Ultra légère , limite panaché... Entre temps il aura servi 3 pastis a d'autres clients, ou amis. Je poste rarement de commentaires négatifs, mais, j'ai vraiment l'impression d'avoir été pris pour un abruti. Dommage.
