As a person who worked in hospitality for 10+ years, I am appalled at the treatment I received and witnessed here. I was standing next to my husband when he made an 8p reservation for us in person the day before our dinner. We showed up a bit early and were told our table wasn't ready so we walked up and down the main drag to waste time. At 8p, we showed up and I personally witnessed a female server turn away at least four groups, saying "we are completely booked." She then came to us and said that the second seating is not actually until 8:30 and she wouldn't be able to seat us for another 30 minutes. My husband nicely asked if perhaps there was anywhere we could sit or enjoy a drink while we wait, since there was a misunderstanding about the timing. She said "no" and walked away, but then came back and said she could seat us, but that it was "someone else's table." What? I found it quite rude that she would tell us this but...French service. Then we proceeded to get rushed service as if they were trying to just get us out of there before everyone arrived for the second seating. Fine. I accepted it and we ordered promptly. HOWEVER, when we paid the check and left at 9:30p, there was only one other table left in the entire restaurant. It was empty. And the street was quiet. I was left to think that she was lying to everyone, including us. There was no second seating. I find this extremely upsetting and downright unacceptable. I don't care how tasty...
Read moreThis was hands down our favorite dinner of our week in Guadeloupe. It was an adorable restaurant with a dining room featuring local art and little tables tucked away on the wrap-around porch. The menu was well-thought out and had many delicious offerings. The staff and owners were friendly, service was fast and food was delicious. For non-French speakers, one of the owners was very friendly in helping explain the menu in English and answer any questions we had. Parking was easy in a large free lot down the street. As there are a number of wild cats on the island, they do make themselves at home and beg for food at your table, so be warned of that. Do not...
Read moreWe had our last dinner here and it was a good one. We arrived at 7:30 but without reservations and were told to come back in an hour and they'll see what they can do. We were given a small table on the side wall of the building, no view no thrills. The waiters are real characters, lots of energy and generally funny. It seemed like almost half the menu was sold out but we liked the recommended seafood risotto. The shrimps and chorizo were good but the mussels were so so. The fish of the day was great, we loved the sauce. We didn't have any dessert but the selections looked good. They even had a cheese plate. The wine by glass was decent, cold and...
