Bar de la marine — Restaurant in Bayonne

The worst customer service I have ever experienced in a bar. Staff is rushed and doesn't take time to take your order. When we wanted to pay with card, their machine didn't respond for 5 minutes and eventually did not accept the payment (while there was enough money on the card). The waiter wanted to retry, so again 5 mins and payment denied. Then tried another card and the card of my friend, both declined. By now, we're 30 mins further and wanted to leave since we still had a lot to visit that day. The waiter then took my visa card without saying anything and went inside, unbelievable. After, he came back and asked us to get cash from the nearby ATM and then come back to pay. After all the time loss and for a bill of 15eu this is unacceptable to ask from your customer. You took our time, our mood and our vacation feeling away for the entire day. If your stuff doesn't work, don't make the customer pay. Would not recommend. In fact, I'd recommend not...

Wir waren zu einer Zeit unterwegs als die meisten Restaurants ihre Mittagsküche bereits geschlossen hatten bzw die Abendküche noch nicht geöffnet war. Glücklicherweise bot uns die Bar de la marine eine Auswahl an Vorspeisen und kalten Platten. Dazu wählten wir Mocktails. Speisen und Getränke waren lecker und ich kann mir gut vorstellen auch abends dort angenehm verköstigt zu werden.

Deutlichen Punktabzug gibt es aufgrund des Service. Speisen wurden ohne Besteck und Servietten geliefert. Der süße Nachtisch wurde vergessen bzw. viel zu spät nach Erinnerung serviert zum Nachteil unseres Sohnes. Ich hoffe dies war an diesem Tag nur die Ausnahme und ist nicht...
