A cozy traditional Basque restaurant near the market of Saint Jean de Luz. A lively atmosphere, a warm welcome, and simple but tasty food.

People can be seated at either one of the 4 long tables or at individual tables. Sitting together with other diners gives it a homey and casual feeling. The menu offers a few items only and the prices are very reasonable to. The service was fast and friendly.

I suppose these guys don't need another 5 star review but what the heck, it was just what I was looking for, a selection of yummy tapas and then a simple dish of Tomates anciennes with a little filet of tuna and sliced white onions piled on top. The couple next to me were playing cards. The place reminded me of laid-back dinners in unpretentious restaurants when I lived in Greece. Sigh. This is what romance...

Caro, muy caro, y malo, muy malo.

No suelo fallar cuando encuentro restaurantes en Google con una nota media de 4.5. Pero en este caso, ha sido un timo y un gran error comer en este restaurante porque luego hemos visto opciones más baratas y mejores por todo San Juan de Luz, con muy buenas opiniones y fórmulas de menú donde poder comer bien.

Hemos pagado 57€ directamente por no comer, porque nos hemos tenido que ir luego a comer unos dulces para llenarnos: 23€ por un mini plato de txangurro (nada especial, de batalla) 21€ por un mini plato de chipirones en su tinta (normalitos, seguramente de lata) 8€ por un pastel Vasco (en el pueblo hay muchísimas pastelerías que lo venden mucho más rico por 2-3€) 5€ por una copa de vino

Y si todavía hubiera estado bien de cantidad y calidad… pero es que encima era comida de batalla y cantidad minúscula.

El precio no está justificado porque, como digo, hay mil opciones mejores a pocos metros del restaurante.
