Pil Pil Enea — Restaurant in Bayonne

Completely surprised and disappointed. Surprised by reviews about this restaurant that presented it as a good and even great one. (Very) disappointed by the food, it was just ok and price is not that ok vs quality. And the worst is the service, I have no clue how people manage to find that guy funny. Not at all. Condescending. Hiding behind sarcasm to convey some rude messages. Making you and even telling you if people are not happy they can leave😮 Typical bad welcoming manner making you feel you’re just a number. At one stage I even felt in a tourist trap! I am French and just want to add that this has nothing to do with not understanding the culture. If I could I’d put 0 star for the waiter/owner I would! There are plenty of other nicer options...

A fuir ! Le comportement du patron est scandaleux et irrespectueux. Nous sommes venus dîner à 4 adultes avec un bébé qui dormait dans une poussette. Nous avions pris une réservation pour 4 sur internet, comme nous le faisons habituellement dès lors que le bébé est trop petit pour manger et n'occupe pas de siège. Nous avons été congédié de manière outrageuse sur le pas de porte, le patron nous indiquant que nous aurions dû réserver pour 5 : "que c'est comme dans un avion, le bébé ne voyage pas sur les ailes". Alors que nous avions laissé tombé et reprenions notre chemin, il nous a poursuivi dans la rue pendant plusieurs minutes continuant à nous invectiver et nous invitant à "apprendre à nous servir d'internet". La fibre commerciale n'est pas donnée à tous, mais c'est tout de même navrant d'en être pleinement dépourvu quand on se revendique patron de restaurant ! Mais finalement il nous a rendu service, nous avons trouvé un endroit où l accueil était chaleureux et la nourriture très bonne. Alors morale de l histoire : allez partout sauf...

Found this place whilst we were visiting for the bank holiday and immediately made a reservation for dinner. Fantastic food! We went for the full menu and were not disappointed. The owner is super friendly and kind. (Next time if we’re not so hungry we’d opt for the smaller menu.) We felt looked after!...
