We wanted a stopover hotel at a value rate for a night on route to Spain. This is an unusual concept - 8 rooms (I think) in a school for hotel and tourism. Great idea and we were happy to stay here. We have stayed in budget hotels just off the motorway on previous occasions however this was a much better option for the same price (c.50 Euros) The room was good, bed comfortable (not so in budget hotels I mentioned) Room was spotlessly clean, bathroom modern and shower good (again, not so in budget hotels) Breakfast was good value (6 Euros) for juice, tea/coffee, yoghurt, pasties, bread and jams. I ordered an egg (supplement 2 Euros) but it was too soft for me to eat. Perhaps ask guests how they like them cooked? Fruit was ok, but grapes looked old. One of our yoghurts was frozen, but waitress quickly replaced it. Bus stop just outside the lycee took us into Biarritz centre (thanks to reception for giving us timetable and information) Checkin took a little longer as the paperwork wasn’t quite right, but the reception staff handled it well. We asked for a recommendation of restaurant to eat in town and were given one (near public park) which was welcomed. However we found an alternative (California kitchen - it was great and worth recommending!) The young man on reception was warm, friendly and attentive. The tutor (supervising the students) took over a little, however we would have been happy to correspond entirely with the students who were enthusiastic and doing a fine job. Parking on site. It was a bit tricky to find reception as it’s basically a school, so better signage would be good. We would have benefited from being given a map of the city which wasn’t available. When we got back from evening in Biarritz there was no one on reception however our room key was there for us (and anyone else) to pick up. If I’d realised I would have taken the key with us. We stayed on Monday so there was no evening meal available which was a shame as the experience we had with hotel made us want to try the restaurant. We will definitely stay again if I’m the area as it was well worth...

Read moreMy brother and I were travelling by train to Spain and spent the night in the hotel, what a find! It couldn’t have been better. It is near the station, has lovely comfortable rooms and we had a very good value breakfast. A first time experience for us, staying at a hotel which is run by a college in order to give students practical experience of working in the hotel trade. In the evening we strolled down to the sea to watch the breakers roll in, lovely. I wouldn’t hesitate to...
