LE GRENIER A SEL — Restaurant in Beaune

We had booked to eat at the restaurant via The Fork and had confirmation that the booking had been made back in May. When we arrived the restaurant said that they had cancelled the booking because they did not use the Fork anymore. Nobody had the courtesy to let us know that the booking had been cancelled - this is the responsibility of the restaurant and we felt very disappointed by the attitude of the staff. Shrug of the shoulders and no attempt to offer us a table. No idea if the food is good as we had to find an alternative...

We went there on 19th November, which was our first visit although we have been regular visitors to the Beaune area for over 25 years. All I can say is that this restaurant is superb. Everything they do is well done, and how they maintain such a high standard with essentially two people running the operation amazes me. We will definitely be back on our next visit in April 2023. Repas un samedi midi.

Je n'ai pas mis 5 puisque nous avons failli ne pas avoir une table malgré un appel un jour avant la réservation. En effet, nous avons dû avoir le cuisinier qui nous a dit d'appeler le lendemain à 10h30 et quand nous avons rappelé, il ne restait plus qu'une table de libre à 12h.

L'assiette de gourmandises à 8€ est un peu excessif pour 4 mini desserts.

Sinon en points positifs :

Carte restreinte ce qui montre que les produits travaillés sont de bonne qualité et frais.

Les œufs meurette à l'epoisse sont un délice Le suprême de poulet était parfaitement cuit et était relevé avec une sauce onctueuse. Les légumes travaillés sont intéressants (navet, carotte et patate douce il me semble).

La crème brûlée est de taille suffisante et correspond aux attentes qu'on a de ce dessert. En plus j'ai vu le cuisinier effectuer la manœuvre de brûler la crème avant qu'on nous la serve.

Bonne ambiance entre la serveuse et le cuisinier ainsi que le professionnalisme de la serveuse (sourire et efficacité) alors qu'elle était toute seule à gérer la quinzaine de tables. Une sacrée...
