Restaurant La Bastide — Restaurant in Bergerac

So it's about 3 years since we last visited this restaurant and I gave it 5 star all round, We went for our anniversary and birthday for something special, how disappointed we were. There were 5 tables occupied half hour into service one of the entrees wasn't available and one of the main wasn't available out of a choice of only 3 options I thought was pretty poor service. The food we did have was delicious. The waiter was so attentive he didn't allow me to finish the wine in my glass before taking it away. The atmosphere was very quiet you could here a pin drop. There is a lot of room for improvement maybe some quiet background music, staff don't need to be on top of your table all the time, more choices or at least ensure you have what is on the menu available. Staying locally, had a thoroughly enjoyable 3 course evening meal in this modern restaurant. Good quality ingredients, well presented, strongly recommend the roast lamb, cooked pink, with appropriate sides; attentive but not intrusive staff looked after us very well. Decent selection of wines as you'd expect from an establishment such as this. Being outwith the holiday season now, plus impact of pandemic, restaurant was very quiet, but their Covid-19 measures were more than sufficient. Certainly return when/if next...

Seduits par les avis, nous réservons pour déjeuner à 4, à 13h30. On nous explique qu'il n'y aura pas de place en terrasse et que la réservation se fera en salle. Nous arrivons sur place à l heure et par chance, une table en terrasse se libére ! (plus adaptée et agréable avec nos 2 enfants). Un jeune serveur m explique qu'il n'est pas sûr d avoir le temps de nous préparer cette table en terrasse. Il demande à la "gouvernante", apparemment la chef... Sans dire bonjour, elle s adresse très sèchement à moi en m indiquant que la réservation vaut pour l intérieur : soit nous prenons la table, soit d autres le feront. Le ton est vraiment inadapté, l accueil lamentable. Le fait que nous soyons 4 et vue l heure qu'il est, nous nous installons à contre cœur. Le menu (25 euros) est correct et les plats sont bons. Le reste du personnel est agréable (ouf). Nous constatons tout de même au cours du repas que le serveur en terrasse redresse une table pour d autres clients et cela lui prend à peine 2 minutes ! Très déçus par l accueil... Les menus enfants sont un peu légers... Nous ne reviendrons pas. Je suggère une petite formation à l accueil pour la dame qui assure cette fonction ! Ça me paraît...
