Le Refuge du Skieur — Restaurant in Bonneville

A great find! A short walk from the piste - and a very convenient addition to the Pierre et Vaçances residence in La Forêt. Service is quick, friendly and efficient, and the food is not only delicious, the portions are huge! The pizzas are especially good, and they offer takeout pizzas - well worth it if you’re self-catering. The restaurant itself has a stunning panoramic view of Flaine, and the toilets have heated floors - bliss! I had the goats cheese salad - it had loads of goat’s cheese (done in two ways), and tons of fresh salad - it was so big, I couldn’t finish it! My dad had the Caesar salad, which was also huge. My eldest loved the Savoyarde burger, and my youngest devoured a pizza. It’s do good, we’re eating our last dinner of the holiday here. Well...

My partner and I (English Speakers) went for dinner at Flaine Foret, and decided to go to Le Refuge du Skieur. Lovely customer service, lovely tartiflette & lovely everything else. Even though one of the servers could only speak French, he was lovely and tried his best to understand us. (We are in their country after all!) He was so chirpy and always smiling. The other woman who served us spoke english well and we had no problems at all. We would dine here...

The food (fondu) was good, and I guess that’s the main thing. But The waiter was very nervous/angry. We were a large group- 12 (reserved a place). First he was angry because we didn’t speak French. Then he was angry because 2 of us only wanted to drink, not to eat. And then he wa angry because of things we didn’t understand. Twice he left the table, angrily speaking French which we didn’t understand.
