The setting of this restaurant is quite a surprise. When entering through the reception (it is also an hotel) you are confronted with an abundance of displayed items that reminded me of a cabinet of curiosities. Since our group was large enough we had the pleasure of dining in "the Bubble" which is a plexiglas dome on the terrace outside. A brilliant concept that works very well. When I had to vist the toilet though I was escorted back to the reception, taken outside through the front door and to an external cabin with a bed! and a toilet inside. I sincerely hope they do not rent this out as an hotel room... Having seen the menu and Michelin star prices my expectations were high. Unfortunately the dishes were far below par. We had the 5 course menu and none of them surprised me in any way. I will even go as far as to say two of them were mediocre at best. The quality simply does not justify the prices. For the last course three of us ordered tea which was served at luke warm temperature. I usually have coffee but I spotted a massive Nespresso pad machine in the kitchen when we came in which is not 'my cup of tea' (pun intended). The panna-cotta which came with the friandises was actually quite good. To bad that the accompanying two dime size cookies were dry and taste less. The staff is very friendly. A bit clumsy and inexperienced but they make up for it with enthusiasm.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Restaurant gastronomique Les Tables de Philippe in Chamonix, and I am compelled to share my thoughts on the evening. As someone who appreciates fine dining and flavorful dishes, I was deeply disappointed by the poorly cooked food and the lengthy wait times between courses. To top it all off, the mignardises were not only unappetizing but also burned. Our driver told us that the main chef was on Easter holidays and there was a substitute chef, I think it’s name is Paul that we’re substituting him. Maybe he doesn’t have the necessary experience for this job.

The ambiance is lovely, but the service and organization left much to be desired. We visited for New Year’s Eve and encountered silence instead of festive music. Drink service took an inordinate 45 minutes, and despite dinner being scheduled for 8 PM, we only received our starter at 9:30 and our main course at midnight. Unfortunately, the meat was served cold and at different times, which led us to eat separately to avoid it getting completely cold. The food quality was decent but not exceptional, and certainly not worth the price of 240 euros per head. We also had to request water multiple times before it was brought to us. To cap it off, they attempted to charge us for a bottle of wine we never ordered. The place has potential, but based on our experience, I would suggest looking elsewhere for a better value and a guaranteed good time. Our New Year’s Eve was...
