They have 4 or so cute outdoor tables and many tables inside. After reading Google reviews I made a reservation after we finished our tour of Musée des Beaux-Arts although it was a short walk there since I saw that it is very popular for lunch. It was a good move as this place packed up very quickly from 12:30-13:00 with locals (girlfriends, work friends, friends of restaurant chef and staff). The combo entree-plat-dessert was very reasonable and the choices were interesting. In the end one of us felt their dish was not well-prepared and shared this with the staff and they kindly took it off our tab. I loved the portion size and innovative preparation of my artichokes and the tartare. Not all dishes were of the same caliber. The staff are friendly AND very busy. (Stretched to answer to queries/requests from all tables) If you are sensitive to smoke beware that you will potentially feel like you are in a smoking section if there are smokers seated outdoors as it blows into the restaurant. Also if you are sensitive to loud noise (or use a hearing aid) this might not be the place for you as it can be difficult to carry on a conversation with the ambient...
Read moreOur second visit to Atelier des Faures: again, it was our most memorable meal in Bordeaux in June 2023, as it was in June 2022. The food was elegant, surprising, and complex; the setting was relaxed yet attentive; the welcome was warm and welcoming. This is cooking of a very high standard, which can accommodate all tastes, from vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, and coeliac to omnivores. The staff were keen to explain the dishes with knowledge and enthusiasm, and we were delighted to meet the chef in person, who took the time to explain his passion and showed us a new way to cook oysters. The menu invites you to choose four or five plates (or fewer if you prefer) and they were all stylish and moreish: this is food which is a feast for the eyes, but also involves complex flavours in harmony. I don't want to spoil the surprises in the dishes so I won't say too much. This is food which will make you excited about food again. We will definitely be back on our next visit. Thank you,...
Read moreIts was absolutely amazing dining experience! Hosting a very unique and exceptional kitchen and chef. Waiting staff was super friendly and helpful. We chose carte blanche / 4 assiettes and each dish was deliciously innovative and unique. Can recommend it to anyone visiting soon. Dishes looked beautiful and they were sized in a way to ensure best tasting experience. Atelier des Faures also had a very good wine list of local small producers. The only smallest issue that I had was that all my dishes contained or were centred around veal. So unfortunately I didn’t experience much variance. My partner on the other hand had much more complex and diversified menu. It’s a very small complaint since it can happen when doing the blind menu. Otherwise, everything was top notch. Last but not least, menu also included amuse bouche and after meal dessert, which were done in a very elegant and unique way as well. Would love to return to this place when next...
