We met Ani as a tour guide and he studies wine and he recommended this place. We know enough about wine to be dangerous! We’ve traveled a ton of wine destinations and look for unique wine. So far in Bordeaux we’ve enjoyed our time and many glasses of wine, but we haven’t bought a single bottle until we came to this place. I’m a world of classic wines and world renowned vendors this wine bar stood out as a fascinating place. They choose stand out wines from small vintners who buck the classic system and make unique wines. Each taste we had had our eyes getting huge. We ended up buying four bottles and will go back today for more. He explained each wine well and surprised us with several other tastings so he could help us find what we liked. We had a wonderful experience at Couleurs du Vin! We were initially drawn to this spot because of its charming location in a quieter alley with stunning views of the Basilique Saint Michel. The opportunity to try a selection of organic wines was a big plus for us. Since we wanted to sample a broad range of wines during our short stay in Bordeaux, we opted for the 7-wine tasting. Each selection was thoughtfully curated, beautifully showcasing the diverse ‘vocal range’ of the region while maintaining a unique character for each wine.

The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, graciously accommodating our limited French with friendly English exchanges. We also appreciated that this is a women-owned establishment, which added a special touch to the experience.
