I was so excited to be going here , I read such good reviews and it was so hard to make a reservation The restaurant was a step back in time with a beautiful old fashioned decor with the open fireplace, there were only 2 tables occupied so not as nice as a full buzzing restaurant (8.30 pm in July ?) The host was very welcoming and attentive I ordered the steak expecting it to be grilled on the open fireplace by madame but it appears only the larger more expensive steaks are done this way - mine was done in the kitchen- disappointing as this was part of the hype ! Steak was nothing special, plenty of gristle, a few fired salad leaves and the renowned home cooked chips were very average Small dessert options but I chose an apple pie with Armagnac, sadly far to much Armagnac so no taste of the apple pie I was so wanting to love this place, I loved it for the atmosphere and the quirky service but the food was just so average

This was such a special find whilst we were in Bordeaux. The atmosphere was everything we wanted, so authentic. The service was exceptional. The food was amazing, the starters were impeccable (including the snails). The mains were the weakest, but still fantastic (those chips were great!!) And the desserts were fantastic, especially the Colonel (lemon sorbet & vodka). The best thing was the value, we had the set meal of €30 each for 2 courses. We added escargot and wine too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

This was a great find. Highly recommend. The room itself has plenty of character. The owners are so friendly & nearly all the meals are cooked in the fire place over coals in front of you. Heaps of flavour, good quality produce, good servings and a great selection of wines. You must try this out for yourself when in Bordeaux! 5 🌟 🤩 ⭐️

Atmosphere: Concept of old tradition nel French farm house, typical from the region. You feel you entering your great great grandma's home. It's cosy, family like vibe, warm, candle light only (I kinda of almost fell asleep after dinner)

We took the menu, it's mostly traditional French food with lots of meat, essentially veal, beef and duck, and birds. Everything is cooked ON POINT, the quality of the meat Is really good (you know when you want to eat the fat) and the waitress was really funny and adorable.

I loved the fact that there were plants everywhere around, the place is mysterious and surprisingly big actually. First time I gave a 5 stars to anyone in my whole life actually.

The price is REALLY GOOD for what you get. But I think its a fair price too. Everyone should be serving this minimum level of quality...

This place is wonderful. It’s exactly what I love in going to the restaurant. A warm and hauthentic service. It’s a couple who run this place. Their sauce au poivre is delicious, so you might want to order their “entrecôte”. Otherwise in the starters, I recommend the “gratin d’asperges”, it taste exactly like I expected: a sour/salty interesting mix. For a dessert, I had the tourte aux pommes which was delicious also!! Five stars. Two authentic people. I will definitely call it my favorite place...
