We visited the restaurant as a result of an online recommendation. The setting is great, but that's all that's great about this place. The style looks like it has not changed since the 1990s with a pointless valet service, odd looking chandeliers, awkward round tables that waiting staff struggled to find navigate through and strange cactus shaped mirrors positioned in the corner. We should have known when we scanned the clientele in the restaurant; it's full of 60-somethings that have clearly been smoking all their life, losing all their taste buds in the process. We ordered salmon gravalax and foie gras to start, it was ok but not worth the price. For main, we ordered tartare and a trio of fish. The tartare arrived on the plate mistakenly with its plastic packaging which we complained about, the waiter didn't apologise but offered a replacement. The trio of fish included a tuna steak which was cooked beyond flavour despite requesting it rare. The other two pieces of fish were bland and underrseasoned. The three fish were accompanied by, what I'd describe as, a roast chicken gravy....a very odd combination. Upon departure, the waiter tried to explain away the plastic packaging that was served to us with the tartare rather than apologising. Including a bottle of wine, this shocking meal cost us 110 euros! Can be desribed as a restaurant that could have been good in its day but there are plenty more restaurants in Bordeaux, best avoid this one if you still...
Read moreWorst meals I had in Bordeaux by far, staff were ignorant, rude and unprofessional. We ordered a large steak to share between 2 people , ordered it medium. It came out extremely well done, and I asked for it to be remade, I usually never send food back but since this was €70+ I felt like I had to. The waiter basically called me an idiot and said the steak was perfectly medium. It couldn’t have been further from medium and said, if we don’t eat it we’ll have to wait “at least 1 hour” for another one, so he suggested he just eat it. Clearly the “customer is always right” isn’t a phrase used here. They then proceeded to ignore us for the rest of the meal, leaving our plates on our table for 30-35 mins after we finished eating, we tried to flag down a waiter to order more drinks but we were ignored , assume because we complained about the food, as the restaurant wasn’t that busy and they kept checking on other tables but constantly missed us. Overall I’d give this experience a 0/5 but the lowest I can go is 1. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE, there are plenty of excellent restaurants in Bordeaux and If all else fails, mcDonalds would be a huge improvement over this...
Read moreDisappointing experience. Came there to have coffee on a sunday afternoon. Immediately at the entrance, the waiter tells us the place is closed. While waiting outside, we see people coming in! We followed them and it turns out that coffee is still served only the food section is temporarily closed (no one bothered to explain). We sat and ordered one cappuccino and one cafe au lait, which as its name implies "coffee and milk". Nothing too complicated... we got cappuccino and espresso shot... no milk... The presentation of the cappuccino is awful, as depicted by the photo, and the taste is mediocre. We sat on the table of 4 then suddenly the waited kicked us to another table of 2 under the excuse that we are only 2. Note that the venue is empty. The table of 2 was near the plants and suddenly we go invaded by small insects.... so we left the place. What a...
