Luna Restaurant Bistronomique aux Chartrons — Restaurant in Bordeaux

Absolutely delighted with our lunch at Luna—an easy 5 stars. We booked online for a Sunday lunch and enjoyed the €42 five-course set menu, which was outstanding from start to finish. Our children were thoughtfully accommodated with a €12 main course, and the staff went above and beyond—checking, for example, whether we preferred to serve the kids’ dishes with our appetizers or entrées. That level of attentiveness really stood out.

Every course was a highlight, but special mention goes to the zucchini flower amuse-bouche and the stuffed chicken leg main. And dessert? A knockout—strawberries over cheesecake with frozen yogurt, though that description hardly does justice to how refreshing and perfectly executed it was on a hot day.

Only two minor drawbacks: the bread felt a bit stale (even alongside their delicious miso butter), and the lack of air conditioning on a muggy afternoon made the atmosphere less comfortable than the food deserved.

We had the most amazing dinner at Luna!! The ambiance and service was incredible, the wine selection was beautiful and most importantly, the food was SO GOOD!! Every dish was very special in its own way - the amuse-bouche started off the meal with such elegant flavors and every single dish we ordered was absolutely stunning, with its own "wow-factor". I had initially booked another restaurant on this special night for my partner's birthday, but a local told me I needed to cancel that reservation and come to Luna and I couldn't be more happy that I changed the reservation to Luna. We’re Americans living in Bordeaux for the past 6 months. We try to get out and try as many new restaurants as possible and we wish we had tried this one earlier. Definitely in the top 3 restaurants we’ve eat at.

Everything about the evening was wonderful from the time we walked in and they took our coats, to the time we departed with a warm goodbye from our waiter. We had the 7 course meal with a wonderful bottle of wine from Margaux.

Every course seemed to be better than the last one, which is strange to say given the desserts (there were three) were the last we enjoyed with our coffee. This is a must do when you’re...
