Monzù Chartrons — Restaurant in Bordeaux

My experience working at MONZU Restaurant was unfortunately marred by poor management, particularly under the leadership of Manager Batistain. Despite my dedication and efforts to improve my French language skills, I was abruptly terminated after an incident on my last working day, which I believe stemmed from the manager's fragile ego.

To provide context, on my final day, I was asked by Batistain to wash the dishes—an unreasonable demand given my role and responsibilities. When I respectfully declined, it became clear that my refusal was not taken lightly, leading to an unwarranted and unprofessional response from him. This situation ultimately culminated in my termination, for my bad behaviour which was ridiculous in my view, a disproportionate reaction driven by his inability to handle even the slightest dissent.

In hindsight, this experience only reaffirmed my belief in the Hindi proverb "der aaye, durust aaye," which means "better late than never." Although my French was a work in progress, I consistently strived to improve and contribute positively to the team. However, it became evident that my efforts were neither appreciated nor supported by Batistain, whose poor management skills and intolerance for any perceived challenge made for a hostile work environment.

Great pizza, neapoletan style with fluffy crust and soggy center - as it should be. The Piccante was perhaps a tiny bit overloaded to my taste, but well within the boundaries.
