Le Bistrot des Anges — Restaurant in Bordeaux

We ate lunch here on Jun 2, discovering it while exploring Bordeaux while our ship was in port. A language miscommunication led us to seating indoors when we would have preferred an outdoor table. But this was a blessing in disguise as we were warmly welcomed inside by (whom we believe to be) the restaurant owner. He carried on a lively conversation with us about Seattle while filling all the orders at his busy bar. Our meals were delicious, and my wine and hubby's beer were refreshing on this beautiful sunny day. What could be better than good food and drink and warm hospitality in the city...

Wow, what a delightful evening!

Walking from our apartment through what initially seemed like deserted streets we entered into a lively vibrant square filled with people having a great time.

Our service was wonderful as was the food. Every aspect of the food was a revelation in style and it was impeccably prepared. The wine was of course fabulous.

We ended up having great conversation with the family on the next table.

We've had good food and great service in other restaurants here in Bordeaux but the staff here were exceptional from the start. We had the formule that was great value at €23 for 3 courses and each was really well prepared and presented. Portions were generous. We mutilated the French language I'm sure but they took it well and all spoke excellent English. We will undoubtedly...
