La Marie Galante — Restaurant in Boulogne-sur-Mer

The seafood platter here is the best we’ve had so far in Cap Gris Nez! All seafood was incredibly fresh and the platter offered a great variety of items to enjoy. We also highly recommend the couteaux as an appetizer—the best preparation we’ve ever tasted. Those alone are a reason to go back! Cheese lovers will also greatly appreciate the local cheese platters they offer for dessert, alongside a variety of other scrumptious desserts.

We visited La Marie Galante for lunch whilst on a day trip from the UK. Our primary reason for visiting France for the day was to enjoy some seafood cuisine of a quality that can not be as easily or affordably obtained in the south of England (in my opinion). All I can say is WOW, we were not disappointed. If anything, my expectations were far exceeded. The razor clams were delicious, and the cod with risotto and parsley was absolutely phenomenal. Établissement visité pour un dîner en famille. Table en terrasse couverte. Le restaurant n'y est pour rien mais les odeurs nauséabondes de remontées d'égout nous ont accueillies à la table. À peine arrivé le serveur est venu prendre la commande sans nous laisser le temps de consulter la carte. Il est revenu trop tôt 5mn après... Madame et moi commandons une bouteille de vin blanc pour l'apéritif et le repas. Cette dernière n'arrivera qu'après les plats. Nous avons la très désagréable impression qu'il faut qu'on aille vite pour libérer la table pour le second service. Les plateaux de fruits de mer sont là spécialité de la maison. Rien à redire dessus, les produits sont frais et bien présentés. Concernant les moules marinières, quelle déception pour un basique. Moules sans goût et mal cuisinées. Poêlée de St Jacques bonne mais accompagnement un peu léger (brochette de champignons et de pommes de terre), prix non justifié à mon sens pour des St Jacques. Concernant le menu enfant, le steak haché était mal cuit (une semelle) et frites quelconques.

Alors que nous étions en weekend, nous n'avons pas passé une soirée sereine et n'avons même pas eu envie de prendre desserts ou cafés.

Le personnel est agréable bien qu'un peu speed.
