L'Estable — Restaurant in Briançon

Shame for french gastronomy. We visited this place in group of 25 people. When we purchased drinks for everyone the waiter came to collect orders for foods. When I wanted to order 2 dishes for 3 persons (one dish was supposed to be shared by two not much hungry guests) the waiter became angry and impertinent. Simply told us that he wants 25 dishes and nothing less and that he canceled other reservations so we could came (some kind of emotional blackmail? But I doubt it was true). We felt offended and told him that we won't order anything if he is telling us what to do in restaurant where we are guests and should feel comfortable (just to be clear-the rest 22 guests wanted to take orders). Cute waiter gave us check (which was badly calculated-at least that we've sorted out in civilised manner, but still, the waiter couldn't calculate check properly) for drinks and told us that we must leave in 5 minutes. We've happily obliged. If you want to be treated as a tool to make money, not as guest this is...

For was really good and reasonably priced. Restaurant was busy so clearly popular.

However- our waiter which I presume was the manager, was very rude. He seemed to change his attitude when our group of 8, didn’t order any wine (we were travelling early in the morning).

Items of note - We asked for a second bottle of water- slammed on the table. Hit one of our guest head with a plate whilst serving our food. No apology. Dropped cutlery off a plate on to another guest, small “sorry”.

Disappointing Used to be one of my favourite restaurants. The food was ok but our reception of 12 people at 9pm was disgusting. We left at the really not late time for a holiday resort restaurant of 10.45pm paying 450€+ and felt that we were a real a pain in the @#$€ for the staff and management. So sorry for disturbing you.
