I have used Flunch here for years, I always end my french trip here, normally the food and service is excellent, this time on Saturday 25/11/23 the service was terrible, I went to the till ordered my food, paid and was given the buzzer as usual, 45 minutes later still have not got any food, there was a french football team served before me, and about 20 others also, I went to the hot plate and asked the staff in my acceptable french, where my food was , they both looked in horror at each other showed my receipt and buzzer when they put my steak hache on to cook, still waited for it to cook, asked for bien cuit, came back bloody and pink, got sick of waiting, had to wait for the veg etc to come out as the french football team ate the lot and had to wait for more to be cooked and brought out to the hot plate. Yes I am annoyed about the wait, but for countless years of going there 3-4 times a year after trips, this was the first time I have had to make a complaint to the staff. Read moreCatching channel tunnel train in the morning so decided on flunch for dinner, we both had the gammon from the grill and it was lovely, well cooked full of flavour no fat or grizzled and not salty. The all you can eat vegetables were very hot and fresh and a very good selection. Never have deserts out as we find them boring and over priced, BUT , a very good choice fresh fruit, trifles , flans ,tarts etc. For the 2 of us dinner dessert and a drink we had change from 20€ note ,happy days. Back in England this would have been the cost of one meal, that probably would have been portion controlled and not fresh. Also the staff were very friendly helpful and attentive . The cafe style restaurant was very clean,so as the toilets, which we found to be very good as this place is used by all generations including little people. Well done Flunch. We will...
Read moreWhat a brilliant place for dinner in this canteen style restaurant/cafe. I went with my nephew who is ten, a fussy eater and vegetarian. He loved the pasta with olive and tomato and went crazy for the crepes which are made in front of you. Its a perfect place for the whole family and very easy to access if you are in Calais or passing through as it's in the supermarket so easy parking. I didn't know about Flunch and I will definitely come back. Staff and security were really helpful and the food was tasty. It got busy with lots of different people having their dinner once it got to 6.30pm. id definitely recommend if you are with kids or just want an easy, relaxing place to eat with a lot of choice. I ate salads and a food selection...
