I am writing to formally express my disappointment and file a complaint regarding the unacceptable behavior displayed by the owner/manager during our stay at your hotel.

The owner suddenly approached guests in a highly aggressive manner, yelling and insisting that phone calls were not allowed in the hotel. This was despite the fact that there is no mention of such a rule on your website or in the hotel policies.

Moreover, the owner displayed clear signs of racial bias, treating us disrespectfully as foreign guests. He refused to communicate in English, resorting instead to shouting, using offensive language, and even threatening to evict us from the hotel, despite the fact that the stay was already fully paid for. His behavior lacked basic decency, professionalism, and respect for guests of different nationalities.

This experience was extremely distressing and left us feeling unwelcome and discriminated against. Such treatment is unacceptable and far below the standards expected from a professional hospitality establishment.

I kindly request that this matter be addressed promptly. I believe an apology is warranted, and I strongly recommend implementing training for staff on proper communication, anti-discrimination practices, and respectful behavior toward all guests, regardless of...

Stayed here for 1 night Fri-sat so we could sleep before setting off on a 14hr car journey through Europe. Rooms - small but adequate for a short stay over…needed a hoover though. Shared toilets and bathroom - again, adequate for a short stay and clean enough. Other hotel guests - rowdy, loud, obnoxious. I have given this hotel one star because the other hotel guests ran riot and there was absolutely no one around to help. Drunken French men, shouting someone’s name down the corridor right outside our room at 22:30 and when another guested asked them to be quiet they started shouting “f&@£ you!” Repeatedly at them. They then proceeded to enter their room, open the window and start shouting to one of their friends across the other side of the hotel. They left but came back around 03:00 and again, shouting, squeaking shoes, banging on doors. I am pretty sure they were smashing up their hotel room at one point. Myself and my 13 year old son were too scared to use the shared bathrooms and in my opinion, if you are offering a shared space you should have 24/7 reception or security to ensure ALL your guests feel safe at your hotel. I will never, ever come here again, utter waste of money because we only got 5 hours of sleep in the end, would have been better to sleep...

Hello, we stayed in this hotel for one night, and honestly, that was enough for me. To start with one positive: everything during check-in went smoothly and without any major issues. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end, and I have to continue with the criticism.

The staff member was extremely unpleasant. I was genuinely shocked when we were told that if we made any kind of loud noise, we would be fined.

Upon entering the room, I found three beds, a TV, a table with a chair, and a sink tucked behind a wall in the corner. I noticed damaged plaster on the wall, which was falling off, and I found trash under the bed.

On the first floor, there were three showers and three toilets. The showers were dirty, some hoses were stuck and couldn’t be pulled out. We had to clean them ourselves first. During the shower, we had to constantly hold down a button, as the water would only run for a few seconds at a time.

The toilets were often flooded, filthy, and sometimes so clogged that waste was almost spilling out of the bowl. The only positive thing was that there was disinfectant available, so at least we could clean the seat before using it.

Overall, I would describe this hotel as a horror – almost like something out of...

We visited this hotel as part of a school trip and I have to say that I would rather sleep in a bus. It's not even a hotel, more like a hostel. The photos don't match reality, the rooms were absolutely awful and really small for 3 people, dirty and smelly. When I was sleeping, I felt like the top bed was going to collapse. Hygiene was absolutely awful, the sink in the room didn't even have soap and the public toilets were stinky and there was piss on the floor. One of the toilets was clogged with shit and it was generally pretty disgusting to be there for even a minute. The showers weren't much either, the walls were paper thin and I had to press the shower button every 5 seconds for any water to flow at all. The owner doesn't want anyone to leave the room after 8pm. Fortunately, the reviews about bedbugs didn't come true, but there was a squashed mosquito under the blanket and pieces of skin on the blanket. You could see fleas from the window (they were probably from room 109) and the local cat was eating them. Overall the hotel has nothing to do with F1. I definitely do not recommend and would never return here. I am not surprised that it has 1 star.

Very basic accommodation. Most rooms don’t have a bathroom or toilet but I opted to pay the extra and got a room with a shower and toilet suitable for disabled. Small double bed is pushed against the wall which makes it difficult for the ‘inside’ sleeper to get in and out. The 20” TV had only French channels which is unusual for hotels in Calais and its remote didn’t work although I guess flat batteries can happen at the best hotel. One negative point is that the ventilation system was rather than extracting smells seemed to be depositing a nasty ‘toilet’ smell into the bathroom. Luckily there’s a door to the bathroom and after it had been closed for a while and I’d opened the window the smell eased. On a good note, I paid the extra for breakfast which was surprisingly good for this class of hotel. There were a choice of cereal, freshly cooked croissants and baguettes, jam, honey, maple syrup, apple compote. Coffee from the machine is instant. However, you can’t argue the hotels value. For two of us including the en-suite, including breakfast for €56. If they can fix the smelly bathroom I may consider choosing it again.

The hotel is well located close to main Calais Attractions. The location is also 10 minutes away from Cité Europe Mall by car. We have been sleeping well for the low price we have paid. The staff provides you a code for your room and for the main gate to the parking since the gate closes 🔐 at 9pm.
