Buffalo Grill Calais — Restaurant in Calais

First tip for anyone who does not speak French, the staff here speak English.

We decided to pop over from England just to eat at buffalo grill calais. Its been there years and I had been about 20 years ago.

We had a friendly welcome and we were seated very quickly. The place was fairly full.

Our waitress Eva was more than accommodating, she took time to go through the menu with us.

We were given a complimentary side salad which I thought was a nice touch. Apitizers were tasty and arrived quickly.

The steaks and burgers are all cooked to order and freshly made. Everything was cooked perfectly.

I would mention however that should you need assistance with something and your server is not o hand right away, don't ask another member of staff to assist you. I did that and the other member of staff humiliated our waitress in front of us which of course made us feel bad as a customer and I am sure our waitress felt offended. Which is a shame because she was absolutely AMAZING. Eva, if you read this, thank you so much for such a wonderful experience.

The price was very reasonable. Plenty of parking all the way round...

Me and my family came here for dinner and we’ve ordered some grill pork ribs and steak worth around 100 euros, we’ve only received our starter after waiting for 20 mins which was good tbf. Then the restaurant proceeded to served food to other customers that came later than us. We were in a hurry we already waited for at least an hour for the mains we asked when will the food come they said 10 to 15 more minutes, then we decided to change to takeaway they said still need five more minutes. While we were still waiting for our takeaway the staffs were unprofessional, didn’t check other takeaway customers order and gave our food to them. And have no intention telling us that happened until we asked again where’s our food then they then only tell us other costumer took the wrong order. And have the audacity to ask us to wait again. We asked for a refund and they didn’t wanted to give us at first. It was a very disappointing dining experience, long waiting time and unprofessional staff despite the food we’re good couldn’t make up for my experience in this restaurant....

Upon arrival, I waited several minutes for the host to show me to a table. I wondered whether this was due to poor organisation, but it just happened that two large groups had arrived just ahead of me; to be fair, the host dealt with them quite efficiently. Having been seated for several more minutes, a waitress appeared and took my order. I asked for an apéritif, which hadn’t arrived by the time my food was ready. The steak was cooked as requested (à point — seared on the outside, pink but not bloody in the middle) and quite nice though a bit tough in places. The green beans were cooked to perfection: neither too crunchy nor soggy. The Crozes Hermitage was excellent, though I received a small glass when I had ordered a big one. Dessert (cheesecake) was a sensibly sized portion and very nice. When the bill came, the aperitif was still on it, but was taken off when I pointed this out.
