Bon...

Came here to Castelnaudry to grab some good Cassoulet. Based on good feedback we chose this restaurant.

It was pretty busy on that weekday lunch, but we still got a table right away. Our Bulldog was welcome as well.

Since we were driving we just ordered a bottle of water and two mains: Once of course the Cassoulet and the plate of the day, which was Boeuf bourguignon that day.

The setting of the restaurant is very nice, inside as well. Even has their Cassoulet recipe written on the wall. Service was fast and friendly. Prices are really on the lower end and the food quality was excellent. Both the Boeuf bourguignon and the Cassoulet were great meals. Very rich, hearty and full of flavours. And we paid under 50 Euros for everything. A great restaurant, surely a place to...

Quite the enthusiast for all things southwest cuisine, especially duck, be it confit, magret or cassoulet. We were advised that Castelnaudary is considered the birthplace of cassoulet. We were in the vicinity, so… let’s go! We found Maison du Cassoulet a short walk from our AirBnB. Our AirBnB host was not a fan, told us Maison was a tourist trap, and insisted on suggesting another place nearby. I suspected he had an ulterior motive for dissuading us, so we decided to follow our instincts and go to Maison. We were happy with our decision. I can’t say it was the best cassoulet I’ve ever had, but it was indeed delicious as was the salad of smoked magret, gésiers, & foie gras. Pleasant atmosphere, service correct. Would I...

Lying and mean waitress (not all of them though)! The croustillant canard avec fromage chèvre chaud salad was amazing and so was the foie gras, but the cassoulet was not good which was a bad surprise despite the reputation. The beans were not cooked and it was not as flavorful. The waitress conned us and lied into our face! We ordered one menu cassoulet + 2 entré, and she brought one additional menu cassoulet and told us you have to order 1 menu per person which was a lie and she later denied her claim. Then she tried to explain that we ordered 2 which was a bigger lie. This hidden policy was not written anywhere on the menu either!! We just felt scammed and conned and left the place very upset!
