Tonight, we strolled just a few hundred metres from our home to try le Cédrat Restaurant, tucked into the heart of Caunes-Minervois. • The menu is minimalist, split between vibrant small sharing plates and a few thoughtfully crafted mains. We started with a selection of tapas-style dishes, each one bursting with flavour. Then came the braised lamb with couscous. It was tender, falling off the bone, with just enough crispy edges to make it extra special. The broth and vegetables were slightly sweet and deeply satisfying, which brought back wonderful memories from my trip to Morocco. • Somehow, we found room for dessert where we had a strawberry pavlova. The service is good, and the waiter pleasant, although I was glad the restaurant was not full, as he was the only waiter.
