Taj Mahal Restaurant Indien — Restaurant in Dieppe

The gentleman who served me was polite and friendly to deal with. This low mark has nothing to do with the service. Unfortunately though, the food. It was terrible. The so called Dahl Soup was a bland yellow watery liquid with a quarter lemon floating in it and nothing but old rice swimming around in the bottom of it, nothing else in it whatsoever. The Butter Chicken ( which surprisingly, tasted the same as the soup, of absolutely nothing) was again a watery liquid with a handful of small dry tough pieces of diced chicken in it. As for the cheese naan, it had french soft cheese inside, not a good Indian cheese. I respect I am in France but I wasn't in a French restaurant, I wanted good Indian food. I was sorely disappointed with what seemed like frozen/reheated food and over priced for the quality. I had a take away which I actually went through the trouble to return it to the restaurant. The owner was somewhat displeased and begrudgingly gave me back 10€ which wasn't half of the cost. Bland slop. I won't even give it the honour of calling it Indian food. Just because its run by our Indian brothers it doesn't make it Indian food. Save...

Went here for my wife’s Birthday as we both love Indian food. The interior is quite small so make sure to book in advance, especially if a larger group.

The staff were friendly and service was ok with only a little confusion on a couple of the orders.

I had the butter chicken and was quite surprised as what was delivered looked like something far hotter and spicier, however the taste was absolutely fantastic and it was a brilliant example of butter chicken and not too hot or spicy at all.

I would definitely highly recommend this place and understand why it has such a high average score, everything seems fresh made and it all shows in the flavour. Our entire party was all happy...

AVOID THIS RESTAURANT - RIPP OFF ALERT! Had dinner at this restaurant for €46, settled the bill with €50 (2 x €20 and 1 x €10). Then this waiter comes back claiming the amount paid was not correct. He claimed having received only €45 with the €10 note being a €5 note. Very surprised as I was sure the correct amount had been paid and the fact was that I did not even had had any €5 bill in my wallet, having withdrawn money earlier from a cash machine.
