Masami — Restaurant in Dijon

Enjoyed very much. The Sushi here, while not the best ever was pretty good - really, I'm being picky though: there was nothing wrong with it but living in London, we are totally spoilt for the quality and variety of Sushi available to us. Funnily enough though the nice surprise for me was the desserts. I've rarely had particularly impressive desserts from Japanese restaurants in Europe or Japan but these were really rather good. Service though was a bit weird: we were presented the bill before asking for it and not offered coffee or atsukan or anything - did we commit some kind of Japo-franco faux...

Well. We have picked this place due to its top rating. First thing to share is extreme waiting time! İt was incredible. Although the restaurant is quite small, not only us, all restaurant have waited.. I think it is the michelin style… only one lady in service but she is doing rally her best! Excellent ! J'ai parcouru les avis pour voir un peu comment pouvait être perçu sur Dijon un vrai maître sushi. Je ne suis pas surprise de trouver des avis qui montrent une incompréhension face aux sushi ou au prix pratiqués. N'oublions pas que le cuisinier qui officie est un maître sushi ! Et justement ses sushi sont excellents et respectent un savoirs faire et non pas un style occidental ! C'est un aspect que lon a du mal à accepter en France car il faut que le chef se soumette aux clients. Mais dans ce type de gastronomie il faut respecter le travail du chef. Bref c'est philosophique tout ça et c'est normal que ça ne plaise pas à tout le monde. Quand au prix je le trouve tout à fait acceptable quand on peut sentir en bouche la qualité de chaque produit utilisé et chaque dégradé de goût dans une sauce ou une préparation. Après je n'ais pas la carte en tête donc il y a peut être des plats qui ne sont pas bien équivalents au prix. Je recommande la formule à 32 euros. Elle reste abordable et propose une bonne dégustation. Ce qu'il faut retenir : petit espace qui ne plait pas à tous, calme voir trop calme, accueil discret et respectueux, service agréable, aliments d'une excellente qualité, carte qui se renouvelle...
