We won’t soon forget Le Saint Louis. Incredible meal — even if it had been double the price I would say the same. The appetizer buffet, a rare find, is off the charts: smoked fishes, shellfish, rillettes and charcuterie with special touches like wasabi and balsamic-infused fish roe to spread on the meats ... and refreshing baby radishes. We all said we could go away happy after only the appetizers. Our meat roti main courses were perfect, glazed with classic sauce and accompanied by delectable pan-fried veggies and potatoes. My to-die-for dessert, salted caramel tart, may sound trendy but it’s a Breton classic. Sis had a tangy lemon meringue tart and my son chose the oven-warmed tart tatin, of apples caramelized to a state of translucence (and transcendence). What a beautiful experience it is to have dinner at Le Saint Louis in Dinan! Walking in you immediately feel warm and cozy as you are greeted by Madame, the lovely hostess, with a warm welcome. The building alone is beautiful, I regret not asking the name of our lovely hostess and the year the building was built. Everything was perfect, the butternut soup starter and the main dishes of roasted meats and afterwards our son enjoyed a lovely dessert. I could have stayed for hours enjoying a glass of stone in front of their beautiful fireplace, maybe next time. One more thing, prices were very reasonable priced. We had dinner for 3, bottle of wine and bill was €60, that is AMAZING for anywhere in Europe. I think they should raise their prices as the food was super delicious with good sized portions. It was fantastic! We tuck our toddler ( he had gotten used to holiday nights) who was welcomed and treated special. He doesn't like any food at the moment but loved the pretzel snacks this was picked up by the staff and they just kept coming. The food itself Amazing! Set menu for prices and choices of 4 for each course.
