Booked this restaurant based on reviews on TripAdvisor. In hindsight we would not choose if we were standing in front of it as it shows all the signs of a tourist trap but we choose to continue. On arrival at the desk at the entrance we waited patient until we were helped. However, other people, who just passed us and walked up the terrace were helped before us and were given a table on the terrace. After we stepped forward a bit more, we were helped, but it turned out that our telephone reservation for a table at the terras was not noted by them. We were then taken to a table at the back of the restaurant (as the table’s that were free when we arrived at the terrace were given to the people that had pushed themselves for us) The waiter was a young man who found himself quite a bit (blonded curls on top of his head and a little mustache, so if after reading this review you decide to eat here anyway and it is your waiter: good luck!) But we are on vacation so we make the best of it and stay positive. But for our information we asked, as we had reserved a table at the terras, if we could change tables as we saw guests on the terras leaving. Suddenly the young man lost his ability to speak any foreign language and in french told us that he couldn’t made that decision only the patron, so we asked him kindly if he could ask her. 5 min later she came to tell us that it was not possible, period! A good host should always try its best and if she just told us that she would would do her best and if a possibility occurred we would be the first, it would helped the keep the positive thinking going. But still, we are on vacation and we do not let something this small get us down. But the the waiter kept trying to annoy us. For the wine he recommended the most expensive one on the menu as in his opinion was also the best wine. So we choose different and our choice was good. But half the amount of beverages were served (only the bottle of wine without glasses) after 10 min. We asked another waiter for it as our waiter was more interested in another things and was doing his best to ignor us completely and 10 minutes later we received the rest (glasses were dirty but as we looked at other tables that were ready for new guests, those glasses were also dirty, so no use to asking for clean ones as it seems to be their standard. We choose our starters and main. The food was served fairly quick. Quality is a 7 out of 10 but overpriced in relation with the quality and medium ordered meat was served as raw. So overall: reception = 3, service=4, food =6 (due to overpricing) so overall we would not recommend this restaurant to friends/family/etc. You could say it is definitely a toerist trap: so do not tip the waiter out off your courtesy! He will not learn from it! One more thing: as our table was situated near the kitchen, I could see that our initial waiter ate something off a supplement dish on his way to be served at another table! Definitely not OK! Funny thing is that he came back to our table when we asked for the bill. We have not seen him after his “wine suggestion” but guess he expected to collect a tip. But we arranged that for the young girl that was bringing our ordered food (a runner) and was doing her best with a smile! Seems now that most of the good reviews were from the previous owners and all the recent issues with the waiters/service are same as we experienced. The recent good reviews must be of people that are used to “tourist trap” restaurants? I neber post a review but this is really something I never had experienced and had to ventilate and warn others, so do yourself a favor and look further land inwards for restaurants that are serving food for a passion, not just for money. Do not worry: there are enough tourists to keep these kind of places alive (unfortunately) so this review will...
Read moreSimilar to the last few people unfortunate enough to visit this establishment in the last few weeks. We visited with friends on Saturday 13/8. There were 7 of us so we had booked ahead. Slow service from the offset- took an age to get drinks. Seems to be a typical tourist place that doesn’t actually like tourists-all French around us were being attended to. Ordered two champagne ‘piscines’. Came flat as a pancake full of ice. Later the waitress would argue that that’s the way they should be served-with ice. Never experienced that with champagne but hey if that’s the way it is so be it. Flat champagne changed, all fine. Finally ordered food. My son ordered cheeseburger with specifically no sauce as he doesn’t like burger sauce. Of course, came full of sauce, we sent it back requesting what we had ordered and we never saw that burger again. Had to get him lunch somewhere else! Husbands food came out a whole hour after everyone else’s no joke. Thought they had forgotten it. Funny thing was-it was a cold vegan poke bowl -the most simple of orders. I had the salmon poke bowl. I know now that was a mistake. I left most of the salmon it it and now I know why-I was poorly for a few days afterwards and I absolutely attribute it to that meal. Do not recommend, as you may have guessed. Staff not friendly and it’s puzzling-you think a place on the port in a tourist area would be loving having 7 people sitting champagne and ordering...
Read moreUnfriendly and bad customer service! I came to have a cold drink with my 18 years old well behaved special needs daughter and the only seats in the shade was two sofas. All the other available seats were in the boiling hot sun. The young waitress told me to leave the seats in case there will be a group of 6 coming and to go and seat with my daughter in the sun. Even when I told her we will move if a group of 6 comes, she said she will be fired if her boss sees that. Pretty bad service!, how do they hire their staff!? Just walk few meters further and cross the small bridge to seat at the Jacques red one. Very friendly and good service! After my drink I passed again by Evasion and saw they were totally...
