Update: Beware of these people. In their response, they tell lies. We have never been rude or impolite to the staff. We certainly did not spoke badly to the staff. The only thing We said was that we only want to drink something. And then the female boss came out. The only one who was continuous yelling without any reason was the female boss in question.

We would have gladly spent an evening drinking expensive cocktails there and paid a significant bill. But unfortunately, we were rudely sent away without reason, as there were plenty of seats on the terrace (24 chairs).

It's a shame that this establishment behaves this way. If they were hospitable, they could generate much more revenue and not have empty tables. Instead, they embarrass themselves by yelling at guests.

Review: Don't go here! We had a bizarre experience here. We were assigned a spot on this terrace. It was already later in the evening. We ordered 2 gin tonics at 15 euros each and a bottle of water at 7.50 euros. A total of €37.50.

After about 10 minutes, the waitress asked if we wanted to eat something. We indicated that we just wanted to drink. This was met with a very negative reaction. Then, the female owner/boss stormed outside, very irritated, and yelled at us, "We are not a bar!"

A minute later, another waitress came out with the bill, threw it on the table, and simply said, "This is for you." In other words: get out! We then indicated that we found their behavior very rude. The famele owner/boss came back outside to yell at us that we were the ones being rude. Then she continued yelling at us, allowing all the other guests to enjoy the spectacle. We felt second-hand embarrassment from it.

We don't understand any of this. We counted for a moment. They had 24 seats free. About half of the terrace. Maybe even more. And then they make a turnover of €37.50 in 15 minutes, where the purchase cost compared to food is very low. So what is the problem? And if there is a problem, treat your guests with respect and don't literally send them away and don't yell at them. This was the last time we were here. We will also alert our Dutch friends to these...

We visited Le Bistrot de Louis with three people and chose the €35 Menu de Bistrot, which includes a starter, main, and dessert. The setting is cozy and the staff was friendly, as we remembered from earlier visits. We’ve been here before, back when it was run by a Belgian owner, and were curious to see if it was still as good as we remembered.

The restaurant is located on Place Colbert, a very idyllic square shaded by large plane trees. The outside terrace is lovely and inviting — a perfect spot for a summer evening meal. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t on our side this time, with strong winds and even a bit of rain. So we chose to sit inside instead.

We started with the soupe de poisson and the carpaccio de bœuf. Both were nicely presented and tasted fine, though they didn’t quite stand out. For mains, we had the mignon de cochon (pork tenderloin crusted with sesame and mustard sauce) and the filet de daurade (sea bream). Again, the dishes looked appealing and were enjoyable, but something felt missing compared to past visits.

It’s still a pleasant place for a relaxed dinner in Sainte-Maxime, but it didn’t quite live up to the standard we remembered. It feels like everything was fine, nothing special. Still worth a visit, especially for the...

Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing. We ordered two 3-course menus, a children’s menu for our 13-year-old, and a bottle of red wine. The waiter forgot the wine entirely. When we later asked for water, which we really needed to enjoy the food, that was also forgotten.

The wait between courses was excessively long, around 30 to 45 minutes each time. This felt unreasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. The pork sirloin lacked flavor, and the sauce was far too sour for our taste. The children’s dish was just plain spaghetti with no sauce, served with what looked like something fried from the freezer. It felt awkward to even serve, and honestly, it almost made us laugh.

After all the delays, we were in a bit of a rush and let the waiter know when asking for the bill. He said he’d bring it right away, but we waited another 10 minutes while being completely ignored. We eventually had to flag down another waitress just to...
