First, I must note that the restaurant allowed us to make a reservation at 21:30, which is quite late. Naturally, the kitchen would be closing soon, and our meals were probably among the last to be prepared. I went with my girlfriend. The evening started off very nicely. We were greeted warmly, and a staff member showed us to our table. We had a pleasant interaction. We ordered our food and requested to move closer to the beach as the previous occupants of that table had left. The staff kindly and warmly assisted us with the move. However, once the initial staff member left, the level of service significantly declined. We were almost forgotten as the restaurant was closing, and the staff was busy shutting down for the night. While I understand this can happen, it was disappointing, especially since we were seated outside in front of the bar. I ordered the surf and turf, and my girlfriend ordered a fish plate. Both dishes were absolutely delicious! Unfortunately, I have been suffering from food poisoning for the past day and night (I am writing this review at 2:17 AM as the food poisoning is preventing me from sleeping). The food poisoning is most likely due to the lobster sauce and large prawns included in my dish. While this is always a risk with seafood, it is not something you expect from a restaurant where the final bill was €170 for two people (including an €8 tip). All in all, I want to emphasize that this place is absolutely amazing, and I strongly believe my experience was a rare occurrence, possibly due to our late reservation and our secluded seating. However, the dinner I experienced was definitely not what I expected from such a...
Read moreThey get 3 stars for there fantastic service of the waiters, waitresses and beautiful venue. If the food matched the view it would easily be a 5 star. My wife ordered the burrata to start with. It didn’t taste that fresh. Almost as if it was bought at the supermarket. No effort seemed to be made to make it better than you could throw it together at home in 20 seconds. I ordered the chicken and my wife the fish. My chicken was dry, as in so dry. My wife didn’t believe me because the dish looked good. She tried it and she was shocked how dry it actually was. The 5 small squares of chickpea fries as the side for the chicken looked good, tasted actually great. The problem was there was only 5 super tiny pieces. I could have eaten 50 they were so small. 😂 my wife’s fish tasted good not great but good. I ordered the creme brûlée for dessert. It was not good because they burnt the candied sugar on top of the crème. Don’t know how or why this left the kitchen. Lastly when leaving the restaurant I used the bathroom on the way out. Such a nice restaurant but how can you not have toilet seats for the toilets in the mens bathroom? And no it wasn’t a bidet, I’ve seen that not having a toilet seat is almost common along the Riviera. So weird. But at a restaurant that is supposed to be fine dining, this is a know go. So for what it cost to eat here and how the food was for us. I would not recommend for eating but maybe...
Read moreJust outside the centre of St Tropez, Pearl Beach offers a much more relaxed alternative to the usually crowded restaurant bars along the harbour. It's well designed with attentive and friendly staff, many of whom have excellent English skills, should you need them. The cocktails are excellent but as yet I haven't enjoyed the food, although my girlfriend says it's very good. I've booked a table on the basis of that recommendation. The design of the entire location has been well thought out and is beautifully furnished with the addition of an amazing view out over a strip of golden sand and the bay, a perfect place to enjoy the sunset. It is certainly an oasis in the madness of peak seaon St Tropezian traffic and is blessed with a considerably sized carpark. We spent an altogether lovely couple of hours, enjoying ourselves in the relaxed environment provided by Pearl Beach and their other patrons. I shall look forward to going...
