Fantastic food and great value but....
I'll start with the good... Buffet starter followed by a choice of two dishs or the plat du jour, then buffet dessert for 15€ We both had the pork with mashed potato in a mustard sauce... Really good food Buffet was really good, especially the dessert which had a great choice of homemade cakes and puddings.
Now the not so good - I'm not sure what caused it, the fact we wanted the Pork rather than the plat du jour? (The Pork was clearly shown on the blackboard as a choice).... But the lady server barely spoke to us, even after I praised the pork and she didn't ask us if we were happy with the food etc... But she was chatting away and asking the other diners how things were going etc ... We felt we'd been given the cold shoulder, and am sure that at no time were we short or rude to her.

Mine was with the mustard sauce at 15€ with the buffet entrée and dessert and my husband had the Pork skewer at 18€ . The buffet starter was fresh with plenty of choice and both our main dishes with mash and veg were really tasty with that home cooked satisfaction sometimes missing when eating out. Read moreFuimos a comer mientras dábamos un paseo por Fougéres. El restaurante está en el centro histórico, en la zona del recorrido que propone la oficina de turismo. Tomamos el plato del día, que era conejo, y brocheta de solomillo de cerdo. Algunos de nosotros optamos por la fórmula plato+entrante, otros por plato+postre y otros por fórmula completa. Los entrantes y los postres, te los sirves tu. Te dejan un plato, no muy grande, para que te sirvas. Los entrantes correctos: algo de embutido (calidad regular), un poco de verdura como para ensalada, rillete de atún (estaba buena), paté...los postres por lo que me dijeron no gustaron. De los principales, la brocheta estaba buena y venia acompañada de pure casero. En cambio el conejo, era "cuisse" (contramuslo) de un tamaño enorme, estaba muy pasado (de una carne que tira seca) y no nos gustó a ninguno. Se acompañaba de un ratatuille, muy especiado, que no apreciabas sabor a verdura.
