Horrible experience, we were hounded and swarmed by flies and wasps the whole evening getting worse over our meal. We have visited this restaurant for 30 years and last visited in September 2023 and May 2022. The food was pretty but dry at times. The flies and wasps started landing on the food so much we couldn’t brush them off and couldn’t eat the food. They didn’t tell us the hors d’oeuvres were spicy and one of our party choked. As well as the same happening on the table behind us. The chicken with truffles was dry but couldn’t eat more than a quarter before at least 3 wasps and a dozen flies were landing on it. They were landing on neighbouring tables food before we got our starters and we had three hand fans for the heat but it didn’t stop the bugs. We told the staff at least 4 times and they laughed it off. I am allergic to wasp stings and so was quite rightly freaking out a bit. I had to get up from the table and leave the restaurant it got so bad. They were landing on my arms and legs so much and all over the tables. A table next to us with one woman and three children had to stop her children many times playing with all the wasps on the tables and on the kids chicken nuggets and fries. For €102 for a starter and two mains with no drinks and no dessert, it was a terrible experience, especially when we couldn’t even get to eat the whole meal. When I told the staff two times I was allergic that when their reaction was that only now did they understand why we were upset by the amount of bugs. They didn’t offer an apology or anything similar. Really...

A haven amidst all the so-called restaurants who charge the earth and deliver only mediocre food served by untrained staff. It’s not inexpensive but it’s pure class and worth every penny. Please, owner/management- don’t change a thing!!!
UPDATE TWO YEARS LATER IN JULY 2020. What a disappointment :( This restaurant appears to have changed owner/management and has lost all its charm as far as I’m concerned. It’s still in the higher price bracket, but it has become ordinary and it’s understaffed which meant that the waiters are all rushing around looking harassed all the time and are slow to respond when you need something. The food has become mediocre and it seems to have lost its elegance and the things that made it special. Such a shame. We won’t be going back whilst it’s under...

For example, the caprese salad was served at a refrigerated temperature, impairing the flavour of the buffalo mozzarella and tomatoes, and the whole turbot was fresh and well cooked, but at over 140 Euro for two people, not worth the money. The fish was presented to us off the menu and the price was not made clear until the bill arrived. The service was generally good, however we did feel a bit pressured to order the more expensive dishes and wine, and our waiter was clearly very busy and we were left waiting for a second glass of wine and then our dessert order. In all, a solid dinner, but given the price it fell slightly...
