As soon I ordered a beer and my fiancé some water he had the hump and we immediately noticed his mood changed but we weren't sure why at this point. My partner doesn't drink alcohol not that we should have to make any excuse. We ordered 2 main meals, 2 vegetable sides and a rice which totalled $53.The waiter was very kind and polite. My partner got her main meal and the side orders came which looked delicious. When I received my main meal, they gave me the wrong order completely and although disappointed they assured me it would take a few more minutes. Unsurprisingly after around 12 mins i was still waiting and the waiter came over immediately to apologise understanding that we were unable to eat together and also that the side orders were getting cold. We simply just asked him to pass on our disappointment to the owner who was shirking behind the counter. He was reluctant to tell him and asked us to tell the owner ourselves as he doesn't care. He then came over during our meal and excused himself that the wrong order was put through but offered no apology or solution. At this stage any form of acknowledgment or gesture offered (even small) would have been gratefully accepted but nothing was offered and he continued to argue his defence to us, blaming his waiter. We didn't want to make a big deal out of it so just continued to eat and the food was sublime. The waiter could see his manager and the restaurant owner ignored the problem and once again came over to apologise. It was evident that he gets annoyed as soon as no alcohol (ie expensive wine) is not ordered.20 mins later and after reading other negative remarks I decided I was going to get up and speak with the owner directly privately outside to politely explain what we were unhappy about. I walked outside and he followed. He wanted to speak with me in front of the guests outside and I said 'I have respect for him and his guests so let's speak out of sight.i simply said that I was disappointed for the reasons above and as a restaurant owner he should show more respect to his customers and that it was him alone that created this bad atmosphere. We spent good money and fully justified an apology. I was told...'First you came and sat outside then inside' (big deal!!!) and that we took up two tables instead of one-I've never heard so much rubbish and he continued to defend himself siting the reason that because he explained the mix up it was ok.I spent a couple more minutes trying to make him realise that just like he expects to be paid for food given, we also expect a minimum service level which we felt we didn't receive. The fact that the food was late ultimately wasn't the issue here but it was more so his reluctance to apologise and ruin the atmosphere of our meal.It was then evident this irrational man won't understand and said 'you will pay for all your food'. I was infuriated and replied saying i will decide what I will pay. We went back inside and at this point all customers outside looked shocked at his response but they wouldn't believe what followed. The bill came and i still gave €50 of my €53 bill. If I had a €5 note i would have only paid €45 so he got more than he deserved. Me and my partner walked out and he followed us demanding we pay the €3 balance shouting at us to never come back and that he doesn't need customers like us.He was willing to make a scene in front of all his other guests over €3s instead of accepting it and shutting up. At no point did I raise my voice when speaking with him but I've never experienced such horrific service.Unless you go there and order a lot of alcohol be careful about eating here and even if you do be aware who you are dealing with as you may find your entire evening ruined by such a rude and bad mannered individual. He is blessed to have a business in such a high end area around all the lovely art galleries around and doesn't have the customer service skills to run a business...
Read morePoor, bland food, hugely overpriced, sloppy service, such a shame. I recently dined at the Curry House in Mougins, a place I once considered the best Indian restaurant in the area. Having enjoyed many memorable meals here pre-COVID, I invited friends, expecting the same high standard. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing. The restaurant is now a shadow of its former self, with bland food, exorbitant prices, and sloppy service.
The food was the worst Indian cuisine I have ever tasted. The dishes were not only bland but lacked even basic seasoning. It’s hard to imagine the owner or chef tasting these dishes before serving them—if they did, they should be ashamed.
The pricing is unjustifiable. €29 for a so-called “biriyani” that was nothing more than a pile of rice with six tiny pieces of dry lamb is an insult. It bore no resemblance to the appetising photos on their iPad menu, which must be a remnant of the previous management. €6.50 for the saddest looking naan you have ever seen. The thali platters, while large, were equally dreadful—a collection of insipid dhal and curries that failed on every level.
This once-lovely restaurant seems to have become little more than a cash grab, exploiting its location and past reputation to charge outrageous prices for subpar food. It’s heart-breaking to see such a great establishment decline so drastically.
I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Sadly, it is now the worst Indian meal I’ve ever had, by some distance. Avoid...
Read moreTerrible experience, we went there really happy to try some indian food, because my boyfriend and his family lived in india and we all love indian food. We made a reservation for 19:30 but when we arrived to the place the guy there ( probably the boss) told us to come at 20:00??? I dont understand why because half of the restaurant was empty. So we took a walk around and came back at 20:00. The server(again probably the boss) was really rude and arrogant, we ordered this overpriced food expecting atleast that to be good because the previous treatment really disgusted us. Mango lassi costed 7€ and from my and my boyfriends opinion wasnt good at all, you could say that the mango was not fresh but taken out the freezer, not only was the mango lassi too watery, you could also taste the whole freezer there, very yummy i’d say. Next on, we move to the main dish, i took tikka masala, to be honest tasted like ketchup in cream- it was EXTREMELY sweet. My boyfriend took butter chicken (which on the menu has a different name?), also too sweet. The naan portion is apparently one naan? Moreover, when they brought us rice the treatment was really arrogant. As we ordered two portions of rice we did not know if it was both or not on the same plate and once questioned, the response from the server(probably the boss) was really arrogant. We all were really disappointed after waiting for the food for over an HOUR. I highly recommend for you all to rather stop at the nearest mcdonalds than...
