Chez L'Ami Paul — Restaurant in Grasse

During a dinner where the food was average, I accidentally left my brand-new pair of sunglasses on the table. I returned first thing in the morning and spoke with a waitress who confirmed that she had found my sunglasses and placed them in a drawer. However, when she opened the drawer, the sunglasses were missing.

I was then directed to the manager, who had been informed about the retrieval of the expensive sunglasses. When I addressed the issue with him, he did not apologize and instead implied that the fault was mine, suggesting I should contact my insurance. When I mentioned that in order to do so, I would need to file a police report because the sunglasses had been stolen, he became extremely defensive. He made it clear that he wanted nothing to do with the police, which struck me as very unusual given that the sunglasses had been stolen while under his care. One might wonder why... At first friendlish staff but no attention to detail....no offer of a carafe of wine ok we had to ask no idea of price , hope it's not too dear ? The carafe bottle has a chip broken off the lip ok forgive you but it should be thrown out. Carafe d'eau comes out warm , hello it's only 7.30 the start of the evening. The steak was meant to be well done , hello watch the blood hitting your chips and it wasn't a good steak. Other tables get bread , we didn't and the sauce for the steak we asked for, well I had to get off my backside and ask again, steak half gone by then . Overpriced for what it is sorry...

Wir hatten vor kurzem eine Reservierung für 2 Personen im Chez L’Ami Paul. Zur Location: Zu Beginn waren wir direkt etwas irritiert, da es an dem Tag nur drinnen Plätze gab und wir uns sehr auf die Plätze draußen, inmitten der kleinen Altstadt, gefreut hatten. Es hatte zwar am Tag geregnet, für den Abend war aber kein weiterer Regen angesagt. Die uns angebotenen Plätze im Innenbereich des Restaurants, waren aber auch sehr schön und das Ambiente wirkte sehr authentisch und freundlich. Zum Service: Wir wurden von einem jungen Mann bedient, der zwar etwas zurückhaltend aber nicht unhöflich wirkte. Wir haben es bei der Bestellung auf französisch versucht aber auch englisch wurde gut verstanden. Leider musste man auf die Getränke etwas länger warten. Besonders negativ ist uns aber aufgefallen, dass alle Anderen im Restaurant eine Flasche Wasser und einen Korb mit Brot vorweg bekommen hatten, nur wir nicht. Zum Essen: Hier kann man schon deutlich festhalten, dass das Essen sehr gut war. Die Preise hierfür lagen schon im oberen Bereich, waren aber für die Qualität des Essens angemessen. Vorweg hatten wir Gambas in Blätterteig. Diese waren mit Minzblättern ummantelt und wirklich gut. Als Hauptspeisen gab es für uns einmal die Ente und den Fisch (Kabeljau).(Siehe Bild) Beides war nicht nur sehr nett angerichtet, sondern schmeckte wirklich gut. Das Fazit: Alles in Allem kann man hier einen gemütlichen Abend bei wirklich leckeren Essen verbringen, solange man nicht zu hohe Ansprüche an den Service setzt.
