La Playa - Restaurant Villeneuve-Loubet — Restaurant in Grasse

Unfortunately bad food and bad service. I went there with wife and 2 kids. After we have been seated it took 25 minutes before we got our menus and asked what we wanted to drink. We ordered sushi for 38 euro, filet de boeff for 34 and vegetarian risotto for 22 euro. The sushi was good but surely not made to order and less then indicated. The beef was extreme overcooked and came from a 300 year old cow, it was almost impossible to chew (i requested medium rare) The risotto was slightly undercooked. Not 1 time did staff come to the table to ask if things were Okee or if we wanted something more to drink. They only cleaned the table after we were done asking if we wanted desert, what normally we would have done, but not here. When i asked for the bill they never came and after 15 minutes i went to the staff and found out i had to pay in a little boot in the restaurant. A very dissapointing experience for a high price. It is an ok restaurant where we already been twice. We had risotto, sushi, ice-cream, cafe gourmand and poke bowls, but everything was really average. The only nice thing is the setting. They put a lot of effort in decorating the terrace every year. The drinks are ok too, but as usual, not too much alcohol in their cocktails. Don't take the BeeZen drinks as they are awful. The risotto had too much onion for a risotto à la queue de langoustine. It should have only contained a bit of garlic and wine. The sushis were expensive and very average so don't go for sushi there! 38€ for 24 pieces without the algae salad (but they bring it free of charge if you ask for it). The service also can be improved. We waited too long for oir order to be taken and it wasn't so full....

Despite there being around a quarter of the tables free by the sea, the waiter wouldn’t seat my family of 3 and put us in the space across the pavement. We had ants crawling in our food and in the bread basket. As we sat there, we saw that they happily sat other people in the other part of the restaurant (which apparently was ’full’) even though they didn’t have a reservation, obviously we weren’t the right ‘fit’.
